Okay, I'm going to book Avalynne's 1 year photos with a really awesome photographer I found close to where I live. Only $75 for an hour shoot, no sitting fee, AND she gives us the CD-R with the altered & retouched pictures! No hidden fees, no portrait costs. Just a shoot & CD! Woohoo!!!

Anyways, I'm at a loss for what to wear! For both DH, myself & Avalynne. Should we try to co-ordinate or is that tacky? I have pretty much ZERO for nice clothes, so I'm going to have to go shopping for myself I think... just a nice top or sweater, maybe dress pants. I have a nice pair of jeans, but they are too tight right now, so I might have to get a flowy type top to hide the roll, lol.

Anyways... suggestions are welcome and needed!!! I have NO clue we should wear! I want to get Avalynne something special that I just love love love, but don't want to spend much $$. I have a really sweet tutu & flower clip for her hair... could she go nekkid with just a tu-tu on? Would that look bad? HELP!

Megan did an AWESOME photo shoot last fall with ehr DH and DD. MEEEEGGGAAAANNNNN??? Come show a pic!

I like the coordinating but not matchy matchy look. You and DH could both wear jeans, and then maybe a button-down for him and a sweater for you in coordinating colors?
I think nekkid in a tutu is A-dorable. :)

I like coordinated but not too matchy-match. I also like jeans, but some ppl like dressier pants.

Lemme see if I can dig out Wesley's 1 year photos and post a couple...

Yeah, I was definately thinking jeans for the both of us... DH has lots of nice dress shirts, so I might be able to convince him to wear one, lol! I think I'll be going shopping for myself too. I just have NOTHING to wear...

When we got our REAL professional portraits done, we dressed in jeans and white shirts...mine was button up, open with a white tank underneath, DH's was like a golf shirt, so was Mason's...and Natalie's was just a cute baby shirt, lol...

Here are ours from a year ago...we all wore jeans, but that was about it for the matchy-matchy thing. I'm a big fan of the casual look.

I used to work as an assistant photographer and when we did any type of family photoshoot we would ask the client about their tastes, what they are looking for etc.

It really depends on the style of pictures you want. If you want more of a classy picture go with neutral colors...like everyone in black or white tops with kahki (sp?) or jeans...something like that.

If you want something more casual then just use a coordinating color(s) for everyone. Like same shades of colors. Like a button down white & color stripe shirt for him, you in a solid color shirt, and the baby in maybe a pattern of using the same color(s).

Google family portraits (look in the images) [or use Flickr, Photobucket, etc] and I'm sure you will get a ton of hits.

Hope this helps!
