I always get a weird error on the download page when I open it. There was one I really wanted a couple of months ago cuz they were really bragging about it but coulod not get it. I posted about it over there and never really got any help.

I think most of the error messages are largely do to so many people trying to download the gold member kit all at once. I whole site slows down this time of the month (well even more slow than normal I guess, :D). If you absolutely can't download through DST, send me a PM either there or here and I can help you out (I'm part of the Insider team over there).

do you have to be a gold/diamond member? I am not one but it keeps saying my account does not have access to downloads and then signing me out but I know I have downloaded the DST Insider before

It's available to everyone. You might try logging out and back in and see if it works. Sometimes the site gets confused.
