You know your child is up to something when:

C'mon moms....let's hear them.

Mine just walked into the house and said "Hey beautiful mommy."

I still haven't figured out what he did....but I will.

When the pair of them start CACKLING... I mean, just huge belly laughs. I love hearing it but I know that when I go up to investigate... it's not gonna be pretty.

they randomly come up to you, kiss your hand, give you a gigantic cheesy smile and say..."mom...i just love you".

:D

definately silence...DS is non stop noise and only stops when he's into something he knows he's not supposed to be doing. He thinks being quiet keeps me from knowing but he doesn't realize it's exactly what makes me know lol!

I get the "watcha doin' mom?" kind of in a giggly manner.. Then I know they want or are up to something. I did get "mom, you look pretty today." once. That was fun!

When my three year old walks into the room and says "Mommy, I love you and appreciate you". Or when she says "So, hows your day going Mommy?"
I know she has just done something she shouldn't!

LOL, the dead silence gives me away...almost every single time.

This. In fact, one of the most "memorable" times of dead silence=my toddler is up to no good, this is what I found:

Quiet here...total dead giveaway!!!!! I get a bit of sucking up too but mostly from the older ones cause they want something!!!

A quiet child behind a closed bedroom door is usually a sign, but now that her baby sister is more mobile, she tends to go in her room and close the door so she can play without grabby little baby hands everywhere. So that's not a reliable indicator anymore.

It's usually my son, and he usually comes up to me and says, "Um Mom, I need to talk to you in the other room for a second." He confesses to me since I'm "nicer" than Dad.

ohhh the hysterical laughing!! My kids once took my youngest in the bedroom and talked him into taking his shirt off and they took crayola markers and drew all over his back and belly. They were quiet and I was cooking so I didnt notice for awhile until I heard those muffled giggles that is. When I did and went back there to see what they were up to they had covered most of his back and tummy!! He was about three or four I think. And let me tell you washable markers are not really washable. He was 'stained' for many days afterwards even with several baths LOL. That was about 9 years ago

the dead quiet.. the hysterical laughter.. and the Mom.. can you come here for a second and don't tell dad I need you..... :D

When mine were little, there were two dead giveaways.

1. When it is so quiet in the house that you can hear a pin drop.

2. When it is so quiet in the house until you hear this: "Uh oh!" lol

Devin is always up to something, so there's no specific tell for him. If he's awake, he's doing something he shouldn't.

JP though, he's a pretty good kid. If he does something, he comes and tells me about it. LOL! But, when he WANTS something, that boy becomes the world's biggest brown noser. LMAO!

"Mommy, I'm so glad we don't have school today. It means I get to spend more time with you."

"What do you want, JP?"

"Nothing. I just loooooooooooooooove you so much. I'm so glad I can spend more time with you."

"Yeah, right. What do you want."

"Why do you always think I want something?"

"Because there's always a question asking for something when you get like this. So, what do you want?"

Big sigh..."Can I play the Wii?"

:D

LMAO, Leila...sounds like Mason! :D His latest one is reaching across me to get some candy or whatever off my desk, and when I give him trouble (one time I smacked his hand) he starts crying and says "I was JUST trying to give you a hug because I love you". Yeah right. I fell for it once and felt really bad...until he did it again...

Logan, my two and a half year old, has started coming to me and saying "Mommy, don't be mad...", then running and hiding while I go investigate. So far, it hasn't been anything too bad...but I know the day is coming.

LOL! I get this: "But mommy, I was getting it FOR YOU!"... or "But MOoOOM, I only stole the pudding cup and ate half of it because I was testing it for YOU!"

My nephew is so funny...if he does something bad he comes in looking guilty and if you ask him what he did, he just tells you. He's 2. Makes me laugh sometimes, that boy...

Yeah, quiet is one thing, or when my 3 year old goes and sits behind my chair. It used to mean she was pooping, but now that she's potty trained (or about 90% pt'd) it means she's taken something she shouldn't and is getting into it.
