When you submit a page for publication, do you usually submit a fulles image? Or do you submit a loweres version and send a highes one if it gets accepted? Or do you just link to a page? Can you tell that I have never done this before!
You should just submit a lowes image. The one like you'd post in the gallery is acceptable. If accepted by a print mag, they'll ask for the high res image. I'm not sure how online mags work. If they can't use your page, you likely won't hear anything back, so don't be discouraged if that happens (I used to submit a TON and while I had several picked up, I had just as many -- or more actually -- that were never taken).
I wouldn't just link an image because most of them probably wouldn't bother to even click on the link.
Good luck!
ETA: At least with the print mags, they have specific guidelines for submissions. You should check their website for exact details to make sure you're sending them all the information they're requesting before you start submitting.
