I almost had to take Naomi to the ER! See this?:

The yellow otoscope? Well the hole in it is the exact size of a 2 year old's finger.
I had her stand on a chair over the kitchen sink and doused her hand with olive oil, it STILL wouldn't come off. I thought I was going to break her finger or have to take her to the hospital.
FINALLY I got it popped off, but her poor finger was blue by the time I did.

I would definitely write in to Fisher Price- did you take a photo of her poor, blue finger? :(
Cuz they'll either recall it or remake a piece to make it safer.... I know there's a bunch of toys on the recall lists, that were put there for much less than that!

I considered it...but she's almost 2 1/2 and it's for 3 and up. We have it because it's Tristan's, who is four. However, a 3 year old's finger could be that small too! Her finger was only blue for a minute. So no I didn't take a photo, I was just glad it came off!

I just looked at the item in question on Amazon and it's not likely to be recalled or anything...it says it's not for children under 3 years.
ETA: saw Lena posted the same thing. It's so hard when you have the age limits on stuff because if you've got older kids, the younger ones are going to want to play with those toys too! LOL!

but how much will her finger grow in six months? I seriously bet she can still get it in there when she's three :D

I hope she is ok. And, she doesn't have any Dr phobias from her on out! Poor thing!
I think you should report it to Fisher-Price anyway. They need to know that it is dangerous and most companies take this stuff seriously. Think about it.. even if a kid is in the 'suggested age range', they may have siblings that are not.
I hope she is ok!!!

My DH had a childhood friend who got 'something' stuck in the horn part that stuck out the top of a toy tugboat... He wasn't even super young... like 3rd or 4th grade or something. Well, his parents had to take him to a Dr and he had thenickname 'tugboat' throughout childhood. My DH doesn't even remember the kid's real name eventhough they were in school together from elementary through high school...:p

oh poor girl!! How weird that a medical toy hurt her!
okay, this is so going to sound all "greek wedding" on you, but seriously if she gets her finger stuck in the future, try Windex! It also works wonders on rings stuck on fingers!
