How Do You...

oh that's a great question! My font has a heart in it, I know it does because I've found it before. But I was trying to "get it" the other day and couldn't :D
 
I know a lot of people do the "<3" thing to make a heart, but to do other characters in a font, I don't know. I've tried to do the special characters using the characters map, but it never works for me. LOL
 
It's usually a symbol key that you don't use that often.
Whenever I want to find a symbol in a font, I go into word or PS and type out pretty much every key on the keyboard. In both uppercase and lower, cuz sometimes they're hidden. :p

I forgot to even find my star.....I'm gonna go do that now, lol.
 
Try using one of the less commonly used special characters. That vertical line-y deal above the backslash is one where I've found superspecial characters.

For instance, that keystroke with PookieDoo gets a star. :)

this is my favorite way to annoy people on im btw... lol.. I just hit random noes.. cause I dunno what any of them are (well now I know that ♥ is three so I can stop c&p'ing it lmao)
 
With my fonts, you'll find doodled characters in the | ` ~ ^ and perhaps <> if the customer put them in. With regular fonts, you'll find the heart with ♥ ALT 3 (in Windows). Character maps are different for each font that you use since not all fonts use all characters or even have a character to go into each code.

Here's INFO on the character map utility your windows program has that can help you find characters in your font.
