the class reunion people are relentless

I remember, my dad got so annoyed with his that he threatened them...needless to say, they never sent him anything else...I don't know what exactly he said though, ahah.

But, he would have never gone to his. We live in NC, and he finished his last two years of high school in Michigan, and since he wasn't there for all of HS, he wasn't that close with the people there.

That's horrible Darcy! I'm sorry that happened. :( Don't they know how cool and fun you are???? Apparently not.

My parents moved from my hometown about 9 years ago but unfortunately (ha) my brother is very very easy to find online. Don't these people know I want to hide under a blanket and pretend high school never happened? :p

At least they tried to find you.

They didn't try for me, and my parents still lived in the same house.

Same for me! They managed to find my best friend even though her parents had moved at least five times since graduation, but not me. My parents still own and live in the same house.

Ugh, I had to help PLAN our reunion. I was a hunter. Trust me, it was no fun on that side either, but I'm positive we didn't leave anyone out. I'm relentless like that. :p

Our reunion people weren't too crazy. I didn't know them in school so they weren't all gung-ho about getting me to come (there were 408 kids in my graduating class--all girls) but they sent letters almost weekly about the event (which cost like $60 per couple...whatever).
We ended up moving weeks before so I couldn't have gone if I wanted to.
That was in 2005 for my 10th. I've got about 6 years until my 20th reunion...maybe I'll go to that one.

we had a 5 year reunion, but i was pregnant with my first and we were stationed at Ft. Stewart Georgia so i could't go. then, when we moved back here to home in '07, which was our 10 year mark, they didnt have one, lol. i guess no one felt like getting it together. my class is a bunch of slackers :D but my class was small, about 70 kids. it was a small country school.

darcenator you can go to mine for me ahaha. My 10 yr is next yr.. blah. I didn't go to the 5 yr (why do they insist on having so many?!).. a bunch of peeps contacted me after the fact and were like whyy weren't you here?! um.. I don't wanna see you? mebbe that's it.

We were hunted down for our 20 year reunion. My parents got letters, my brother got letters, I got letters & emails. I guess they were covering all bases.

Then the whole thing degenerated into a flame war by clique on the yahoo list over just when the reunion was going to be and whether there would be 2 'sponsored events' or just one. The 'popular kids' who were still mostly in the area wanted 2, one Friday and one Saturday both for one price, and the rest of us losers who couldn't make it into town for a Friday night thing didn't want to finance their drinking.

They did it over Thanksgiving weekend and I couldn't make it & wouldn't have had childcare even if I could so I didn't go. Apparently neither did two thirds of the class.

Next year is our 25 year one, should be entertaining:blink:

I didn't go to my 10 year, however my 20 year is NEXT year. I'm way excited. A bunch of my friends have reconnected via facebook. We have been having a wonderful time getting to know each other again.

I have never gone to any of mine, this year will be 25 and I bet we don't even have one because I think there was a 5th and a 10th and then the people lost interest. Not that I'd go anyway.

My class didn't have a 10th one, no one planned it. Then someone found me on facebook last year (how I don't know cause really, we had a huge class and I only went there for 2 years) and they are trying to set up a reunion this year to make up for it. Who ever heard of an 11 year reunion?

Andrew's class had a 7th year reunion. His 20th should have been last year, but we never heard a word about it from anyone. It's not like he's hard to find either considering how unique his name is, lol!

I'm so not a reunion person. High school was fine and dandy for me, but I just am not into the whole reunion concept.

I don't know what resources the reunion people finders have at their disposal, but I think it would be pretty tricky to track me down. My mother probably moved half a dozen times after I graduated, and she's been dead almost 6 years now. I moved away from my home town, went off to college, lived in Spain, and returned back to DFW, got married and moved another 3-4 times. I don't facebook. If you know my married name, it would be pretty easy to contact me, I think. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Here's to hoping that I'm one of the lost cases. :D

I don't understand why they have 5 year reunions. Not a whole lot has changed in 5 years. I did NOT want to go to my 10 year (2007) but my friends convinced me to go and I ended up having a really good time. What I didn't like was that it cost us 35/person or 50/couple to go...they had very few snacks and a cake. We had to pay for all of our drinks too. I'm not sure where all that money went...probably in the planner's pockets. Now they want to do a 15 year. Sheesh. I think I'll just wait till the 20 to think about going.
