10,000 clicks!

So I realized this week that I just passed 10,000 photos on my Rebel XT. Has anyone else done this? Do the files number really start over at 0001 again?

My photos all download by year and then date so I'm not worried about them overwriting each other but I'd like to know before I download them off my memory card so I can start renaming them if I need to.

Yes, I hit 10,000 on my P&S and the numbers started over.

I hit 10k on my Rebel 300D a few months ago and they started over. I'm already at over a couple thousand and nervous that my shutter is going to go bad. :blink:

Canon won't give specific numbers, but everything I've read says that the Rebels (300 & 350) are rated to 50,000 cycles. My 300D had about 40K on it, I'd had it for four years.

Don't quote me on that though, the information is not direct from Canon.
