Sensory seeking?

I'm at my wits end with this girl. Does anyone have a sensory seeking child or have any advice for me? Naomi is a smearer. Anything she can get her hands on and squish between her fingers, smear all over everything, she does. I just lost half a bottle of shampoo to her smearing it on the bathroom wall.

Try some directed activities with her, then. Jello on a cookie sheet, shaving cream on a window (and then this does double duty by letting you get the window clean), those squishy gel toy things you can get in the $1 toy area at Walmart. She's exploring :)

Yeah, we do shaving cream on the kitchen table. Best part is, it strips the table...the residue from the cleaner I use comes up on the towel when I'm cleaning it up afterwards :p

I can't even tell you how many photos I have of her drenched in (insert substance here) Off the top of my head : paint, shampoo, conditioner, desitin, aquaphor, and all variations of food.

That's how we learned of her tomato allergy (on her skin only). She smeared spaghetti sauce all over her belly at dinnertime. And then it boiled up. (she was going for the osmosis effect, maybe the food would be directly absorbed)
