Well I just did this switchover a week ago so I decided to bite the bullet. I backed up my files from this week (just one purchase, 9 layouts and a handful of CT kits). And I'm just deleting all the files off the new HD and retransferring them from the EHD....just once this time though 
The transfer is happening right now, I am transferring them BEFORE I delete the old ones. I did go onto my EHD and create one big folder called Transfer and put all my stuff in there first, that way they wouldn't accidentally all spill out onto my laptop and create triplicates of anything.
We'll see how this goes.
