I rented this movie this week and we are just finishing up watching it now and was wondering if anyone has ever seen it before? I am just shocked at what happened back then (since its based on a true story). I have not finished the whole movie. We are at the point where the detective took the boy back to dig up the remains. I had never heard of this before in the past. Just so sad :-(

DH & I saw this when we went away for our 10th anniversary weekend. What a roller coaster ride for the mother in this film. Can you imagine????????:(

It really breaks my heart watching movies like this(especially when they are based on true stories). I was hoping through the whole movie her son would be found alive and well.

Hubby bought this when it came out on DVD... We hadn't seen it before he bought it but I'd been DYING to see it since it was in theatres.. We watched it and it was a really good movie.. Sad and terrifying but really good... I couldn't imagine something like this happening to me.... And its so terrible that its based on a true story... I can't believe what happened back them :( But if you havent seen it go rent it... :)

We just watched it Sunday night, it was SO sad but definitely a good movie. I thought Angelina Jolie was great in it.

we JUST saw this last night! what an amazing movie, but so hard to watch! Angelina Jolie was fantastic in it

I totally agree!! Could not imagine another actress playing the role. Im not always a fan of hers but in this movie she did an incredible job.

I was a great movie, but difficult to watch. They did leave out, what I thought were a few key bits of info on the murders..you can read about what really happened on Wikipedia!!

I have to admit that as much as I dislike Angelina she is sometimes good actress. I loved her in The Bone Collector. I tend to avoid movies she is in but I guess I'll add this one to my Netflix. DH will be thrilled since he loves her.

It was sad... I think stories about kiddos are the hardest for me. I'm big into true crime stuff, and LOTS of horrible stuff like this happened "back in the day" but media was just so much more limited.

Ed Gein in the 50s was the first gruesome story that was really told in the media.

This one had me crying.

I watched it and man did I feel so sad for her. My heart was breaking for her when the other mother's son came back.

I can't remember if Angelina Jolie got an Oscar nom for her roll, but she sure deserved one.

I googled the actual story and there are a lot of differences that make the movie pretty misleading... but I guess they have to do what makes it sell. The pic of the real bad guy is SO creepy.
