Girlie shizz on boy pages...yay or nay?

A comment the Fizz just left me cracked me up...and people have said it to me before. I always use pastels, pinks, flowers, bows...on my BOY pages. Who else does...or who wouldn't be caught dead doing it?

:p God! I wish I could. But I put my flowers on my girls. I am lucky to have both to scrap. I always love your boy pages with frilly stuff. But you have some pretty boys there miss Amy Stoffel.

I don't because my boys wouldn't like it on their pages. Every once in awhile I'll make a page for me that while still masculine, is a little softer, but since I'm not a girlie girl, I'm not missing out!

i use to NEVER but anything girly on my sons pages, but now i will put a flower or two, maybe, but thats pretty much it.. i stick with the boy stuff and steal pictures of my nieces for the girl stuff.
but i do like using girl kits for his pages, but picking out the more boyish things

Umm..I use flowers and ribbons and bows and stuff, but they're usually in boyish colors...not pink.

This is me too. I think I've only used pink if I'm in the picture too...

ETA: He's too little to care if I put flowers on his page, so I may as well do it while I can.

I have been known to do it from time to time. I use lots of swirls/flourishes on their pages, though. I guess it just depends on the page.

Well, i don't want my pages to be too girly but I do use girly stuff on my pages. I've never been afraid of flowers or girly elements on my boy pages. I also enjoy the challenge of pulling boy layouts out of girly kits.

unless they are like my teenager ... who loves pink. I don't think I could do all girly stuff on his page, but pink is fine! lol

I wouldn't NOT use girly stuff on the little boys pages, if it worked on how I wanted it to look.

maybe i can only get away with this while they are little???

I think that's very true. I'm like Darcy--I use boy things because I think they'd prefer it. Maybe not now, but when they look back on their albums later. My 5 year old is starting to object to pages that aren't light blue (his favorite color), LOL.

I scrap my boys without pink or elements like hearts and flowers. I only use them if it fits the page theme (spring, Valentine's Day, etc) or if I'm in the photo. I don't consider ribbons to be girly, so I do use lots of ribbon and stitching in masculine colors.

Depends on the kit. Traci has made some awesome boy kits with flowers, etc, and I use those liberally. But tiaras, wings, and feathers...not unless it's a newborn picture...and even then...

Not much pink in mine (well except one that was on purpose to make a point) but lots of flowers, ribbons, etc on my pages. Just not all together.

and I LOVE glitter.

I only use flowers for Cooper's stuff if its in a "boy" color. Or if its a page with him and Keira. I don't want him to be 15 and say, what the heck mom.

A girly girl like me who loves pink, never! And if you believe that I've got oceanfront property for sale in Arizona for ya! LOL!

You know, it's funny you mention this Amy... I'm always in awe at how you can take a girlie kit, use the same elements as everyone else, but still make the page look just boyish enough.

I totally don't have a problem with it. But I also didn't have a problem with Landon wanting to play with his sister's kitchen or dolls. Good fathers start somewhere, right?

That said, I tend to question the masculinity of dudes that wear pink shirts. I don't know if you guys remember me telling you that Michael had to do the school shopping 'cause I hurt my foot, but Landon came home with two purple/teal shirts. I tend to think of those as girly combos, and even though Landon likes the colors for some things (pink, too), he doesn't want to wear them. I have no idea what Michael was thinking, 'cause he's generally way scared of girl colors for clothes--think he was trying to be "open minded." LOL But knowing how much we suck at actuallly taking things back for exchanges/refunds, I decided to just keep 'em around for "play" shirts.

For KCB's birthday challenge I scrapped pics of my son using a girly-ish kit for the first time ever. Even though it's pink-y/blue-y/green-y and very 'not what I would normally do' for him.. It's actually one of my favorite LO's!

Flowers are ok in moderation for me, except infant photo, which can have lots of flowers.

I don't like pink personally so I don't use it much, not even for my own pages.
