Why ??? School shooting in Germany

Hi my friends,

I feel so sad and helpless! In Winnenden, a small city in the south of germany where we life some 4 years ago was yesterday a school shooting.

We know several pupils in this school and our whole family is simply shocked! As far as we know, no one we know is dead.... thank god, but why????

Big hugs Claudi! DH and I heard about this on the radio on the way home yesterday. My heart just breaks for the families of all those who were killed and all those students and teachers who had to witness this horrible thing. :(

Oh Claudi! That is just awful!! It really hits you when it's so close to home doesn't it? It's so stinking senseless.
 
I read about it yesterday and wondered which of you girls were in Germany. It's horrible and senseless. Sometimes I think the whole world has just gone crazy.
 
I heard about this on the news just this morning. This absolutely breaks my heart. Such senseless tragedy. Prayers going out for everyone affected by this.
 
I heard about this last night at church and our small-group spent some time praying for that school and those students. Its so sad. And when it hits so close to home, its even harder to deal with. I was a senior in highschool when Columbine happened. I live only a couple of hours away from Littleton and I even went to church camp as a teenager with two girls who went to Columbine (they weren't hurt in the shootings, thank God). It was horrible and I remember just being almost numb after a while.

Even though we've had these tragedies many times now in the states, it is NEVER easy, even if they aren't near me of affect me personally. It is SO hard to understand why anyone would do this kind of thing. It is so sad and I am so sorry for you. I don't know how often these kinds of killings have happened in Germany, or in Europe. No matter how many we hear about them here...I am still in shock every time. :(
 
These killings are just so incomprehensible to me. It breaks my heart every single time. :(
 
Oh how awful. I'm so sorry! This is as senseless as the shooting spree in Alabama. What is the world coming to?
 
It is very terrible when things like this happen - and especially terrible when it affects kids. I was so sorry to hear about that teacher who gave her life for her students, but she was a very brave woman. I must admit I've almost never heard of these things happening in Europe (I know many years ago there was an incident in England that inspired the song "I Don't Like Mondays").
Many prayers going out to your country and to those affected by this tragedy.
 
thanks girls!! Winnenden the little town has changed and many of our friends their aren't the same than before! My heart breaks when I think what they go through!! thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for the people in winnenden! they need it!!
 
I am so sorry for you and your country. We too have had several school shootings and no one ever really gets over it. I have been to Stuttgart and probably passed through that little city. I will keep you in my prayers that you will recover from this horrible tragedy.
