Tornado watch

*sigh*...it's springtime in Oklahoma------->> tornado season.
We're under a watch until midnight at this point...I should be at moms enjoying bluebonnets, but I'm here in my mobile home monitoring radar so I'll know if I have to grab Rachel and run to the neighborhood shelter.
This time of year makes me nervous, and I know I won't be able to get to sleep until the storm has passed us. DH says it's no big deal...go to sleep...you'll hear the sirens...that does NOT make me feel any better!!!

okay, rambling vent done...just had to share my nerves with someone LOL

I can so relate. I am a total wreck whenever we have bad weather. We're supposed to be in for it in the next couple of days as well and I'm already anxious about it. I usually spend a couple of hours in our bathroom under the stairs trying to keep DS calm and entertained. Not fun. We're planning on adding on to our house in the next couple of years and DH has already promised me a "tornado room". His uncle has one and it is soo cool. The walls are all made from reinforced concrete..it's in the center of the house so no windows but they use it for an office and then whenever severe weather rolls through they all just camp out in that room til it's over. If you don't live where tornados are common BE GRATEFUL lol :)

We had tornadoes here in Nebraska this afternoon... ITS MARCH!?!?!?!?!?! Also, we had blizzard warnings, high wind warnings, thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings in our state all at the same time today. Go figure.

Anyway welcome spring! And stay safe everyone!

that is pretty much the same here...although we dont get the huge tornadoes that are seen in other states but we defenitely have some monster storms and in the summertime they are almost every single day. hope it stays quiet where you are!! No nasty storms or tornadoes!!

I was debating on taking some Advil PM tonight to kind of help me sleep tonight due to a headache that is setting in and a neck ache...but we're supposed to get strong storms between 4am and 6am...and I just don't trust the weather to *behave* and for me to be able to wake up...so I'm going to just take some motrin and hope it helps me sleep...but also lets me WAKE up if alarms go off.

Before we had our weather radio...I used to sleep with the window cracked on nights where we expected some weather...just to make sure I heard the sirens...but I never really slept...most of the time I went downstairs and camped out in front of the tv all night. Do you have a weather radio? Ours is so loud and cranky sounding it will wake the kids up and they are upstairs! I just told our oldest son to take care of his dirty clothes...if the siren goes off...we bunker down between his bed and the wall because our basement is not fully underground! (phew we would not want to be smelling his old dirty socks!)

Here is hoping you have a peaceful night!

...and for those wondering...I am in Kansas...
