Are the regular Leapster games compatible with Leapster 2? DS is getting one for his birthday but I wanted to make sure before I bought any games for it.

Yep they work with Leapster 2, I think the only difference is, the older ones don't work with the Learning Path stuff, you know, how you can check their progress?....not 100% sure on the last part, but yes they play in the Leapster 2.

Threadjacking! Hiiiiiyah!

So, is that the only difference between the 1 and 2? The Learning Path?

Dom LOVES Faith's L1 and is even insists on saving his own money for one (he's 3, BTW LOL!) but I wasn't sure which to get. If it's just the learning path thing that's different, I'll just get the 1 *shrug*

I got the Leapster 2 for L.J. because of the Learning Path, but since Christmas I've never plugged it in once to check it so I probably should have gone with the other one. LOL

BTW Nikki...L.J. loves his!!!! CARS & the Letterpillar games are his favorites.

Well, really the only reason I went with 2 was b/c they had the special edition one with the lightening mcqueen skin and he's obsessed with Cars and we're having a Cars b-day so I paid the 10 bucks extra. He's had the "my first leapster" since he was 2 and he still plays with it almost daily, but he's pretty much outgrown those little games so we're moving on up :) He'll be 4 on his bday

This is what we're getting DS2 for his 4th birthday too... My oldest has a birthday first and he was a Nintendo DS - but I'm going to get him the Leapster.. the DiDj or something like that. I think the age is 6-10 on that one and 4-8 on the Leapster.

I'm still debating if I should get DS2 the DiDj too.... Im thinking he might be too young for it?? But if they get the same - well, they could share games?

But... he does love CARS too LOL.

How old is your oldest? My nephews were 4 and 6 when they got their Nintendo DS and they both play way better than their parents do on it. I was surprised how well they were able to use them.
