Priceline?

Has anyone here had good success with "naming your own price" on Priceline? My brother booked a hotel through it and actually got a really nice hotel for super cheap... but the fact that you don't know what you're booking makes me nervous. hehe

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND THIS SUMMER (hopefully)!!! And we need a cheaper hotel but I don't want to stay in a nasty hotel. ;)

there's a site that tells you the least price they will take..but I have to find it hahaha

gimme a bit I'll be back w/it. Our radio station did a tips thing one day and a ton of callers called in with it and said how helpfulit was.

I've never done it myself, but one of my sisters has. I think it was through Priceline, or a site very similar. And she could pick the star rate as well as price (so she wouldn't pick a 2 star hotel, but a 3.5 or 4 star, and they got a nice Holiday Inn). HTH!

A friend of mine used Priceline to book a 1-bedroom condo for a trip to Disney over spring break a few weeks ago. She paid $59 a night and on the condo's site the room was $79, so she saved $20 a night using Priceline!

I had a bad experience with them last fall. I checked the box that said "check here if you plan on using a debit card". Then they only search from vendors that accept them. But they still booked me with a vendor who did not. They ended up having to just refund my money and I didn't rent a car at all!

When we went to San Francisco we tried to use them for a hotel and ended up getting a cheaper price going through the hotel itself. :)

I have never had success with them... I'm not paying $300 a night for a nice hotel in San Diego for Comic Con this summer... that's just retarded.
