Easter Egg Thieves!

What do you do when you've got 2 kids that get up at 6:20AM and find (and EAT) all of the Easter Bunnies treats before the 3rd child is even awake??

My girls are 7yrs. and 5.5yrs. They didn't even leave a single egg for 3yo. DS to find! My 5yo. even ATE the kinder egg with DS's name on it (and she can read!)

I took all of their candy away and made them re-hide the bubblegum eggs for DS to find.

I am so disappointed in them. :(

Awwww what a disappointment! I'd definitely tell them their candy and gum is all gone now. Hopefully they will learn. The 7yo definitely knew what she was doing.

You avoid that by sleeping downstairs in the recliner like I did! You might need to do that Christmas Eve!

My mom used to tack a sheet up in the hallway so we couldn't peek...but dh doesn't want tack holes in the walls so I GUARD the entrance. lol

I know that they were excited - they've been talking about the Easter Bunny coming all week. I got up at 6:30am to see what they'd found and then I told them to take a few goodies downstairs and leave the rest for their brother. Then I went back to bed. There was no way that the little man was getting up that early - he grumbled at the mere thought of it! LOL

I took their candy away and made them re-hide some for their brother.

They also happen to know of some Easter webkinz that I bought this week and I know that they know about them. They also know that they're not getting them now and their brother will be getting first pick out of the 3.

I would have been so mad if my girls did that. I hope they realize what they did wrong and hopefully they don't do it again.

:(

We put a baby gate up last night. LOL! We also do that for Christmas Eve.

But we also had to hide the eggs inside since it was raining.

We never have an "outside" Easter egg hunt! LOL There's always snow left on the ground and this year, it happens to be raining as well.
Not to mention, the local wildlife would eat the treats!!

Oh gosh... how sad for little DS. I don't know what I would have done, but I probably would have blown a gasket, and the kids would be scared of me for awhile, lol.

I'm glad to hear that DS gets first pick of the Webkinz though. That might teach them more than anything, y'know?

I think that is a VERY good strategy...hmmm shouldn't he get ALL 3??? hmmm lol Good for standing your ground...they will learn a LOT from a parent standing firm. Applause!

This is the first year in YEARS that it was not raining Easter morning! We got to hide outside with camouflage plastic eggs...a bit more challenging to find them...alas dh could not wait until Sunday afternoon to mow so the grass was short (bah!) and he hides eggs like a 3 year old would...and the boys are 13 and 15...so it took them probably 60 seconds to find almost all the eggs. Would have been a 10 second hunt with bright colored eggs.

I hid some inside...and the hunt went on a LOT longer than it has in years...only in one room...but I don't hide them out in the open like dh did...he walked in the room and thought I only hid like 3 eggs...but I had hidden 22 of them! My 15yo ds finally stood up on the office chair and took a look from a different angle to spot a few (including up on the top of the ceiling fan). lol I'm glad the boys still enjoy this...

We went over to my in-laws and the 15yo got to hide the eggs for his younger cousins...he liked that.

Aww poor thing, it sounds like you did the right thing thing:)

My ds woke up at 6 something and opened his basket and ate all of his
chocolates, I almost didn't do Easter Egg painting b/c of it he went upstairs sat on his bed and cried for an hour I had no idea he was crying b/c I was eating breakfast and talking to my 2 oldest dd's I caved and said we'd do it  I felt so bad
