Why I'm An Amazing SO (Tell Us Abt Your Own Amazingness)

(01) I made cinnamon streusel muffins yesterday morning for breakfast for Jeff. Okay, so they weren't homemade, but they were perfectly baked.

(02) I made green beans (fresh with bacon and onions and lemon juice) for Easter dinner and even when Jeff got a wild hair that we HAD to be at his mom's house at 12:30 even though she told me the earliest we'd possibly eat was at 1 and I was not done cooking said green beans and he was whining and griping and 'How did I not know how long it would take to make this?', I did not punch him in the face like I wanted to, but told him to leave and take Tyler with him and I'd be there as soon as I can and THEN I got there, hot beans in hand, at precisely 1 pm and although felt smug, did not say 'I told you so' when we ate dinner at 1:40.

(03) The green beans I made (from a new recipe) were pretty tasty.

(04) Did I mention I spent all afternoon at my inlaws' house?!

(05) Did I mention that all my FIL watches on TV is golf and since the Masters were going on, I had to watch 2+ hours of golf with my FIL and BIL doing the commentary?

(06) I stayed up until 11 pm (waaaaaay past my pg bedtime) to proofread Jeff's group's paper for his MBA class even though I had been up since 7 am and had almost passed out on his dad's couch earlier in the afternoon 'cause I was so sleepy and didn't even fuss abt it, but just did it and then went to bed as soon as I emailed it back to him.

Yup, I was friggin' AMAZING yesterday. I won't get accolades from him abt any of that (except for the paper), so I thought I'd just post here and make myself feel better. *pat pat* Hormones anyone?

Post your amazing stories right here! We will praise and love on you even if your SOs won't or forget to. :)

Ok, here's mine.

1. I got up yesterday morning at 6:00 to get our entire Easter dinner ready. I made yeast rolls, au gratin potatoes, cheesecake, ham and I got it all ready to go so that I could quickly come home an hour before church was over and pop it all in the oven and we could eat when we got home.

2. After all the preparations for the feast, I even did all the stinkin dishes so that my hubby could enjoy the day.

3. I sat and watched The Sound of Music TWICE - once was the regular movie and the second was with the commentary!

4. I talked to my MIL on the phone for a good ten minutes. I don't like to do that and avoid even answering the phone when she calls so for me to talk to her for ten minutes - that was a BIG thing! LOL

1. I made Jeff a diabetic-friendly pumpkin pie (which was DELICIOUS, if I must say so myself) for Easter Dinner complete with homemade sugar-free whipped topping which was also mighty good.

Uh.... thats it for me. LOL

eta: thought of another one! I *made* the boys the cutest Easter shirts, spending only $9 total. And they ROCKED!

nada.... but my hubby deserves like 10,000,000 brownie points for the last month or so! (since having baby #3 and then a lot before too!)

i've got to think of somethiing, i'll be back!

I didn't make a nasty comment when Jordan's youngest sister informed him that the wedding band he picked out was ugly, that he shouldn't get it, and that he would regret it if he did.

I also didn't ring her neck for being incredibly rude to my family for the entire weekend. She said 2 words to them IF THAT, and I think they were "Good Bye" yesterday when they left.

1) I didn't kill my SIL for her thinly-veiled insulting comments thrown into the conversation throughout the day yesterday and on top of that, I even chatted with her and smiled convincingly in all the right spots.

2) I stayed up late Saturday night doing Easter baskets, prepping food for Easter dinner, laying out Easter outfits & making sure the house was clean after spending the ENTIRE day at the IL's and then taking all three kids for haircuts Saturday evening while dh worked outside with FIL.

That's probably all, but isn't that enough? All the IL's survived the weekend and so did I. I call that a good weekend! :)

1. I make David's lunch every day, with love and without complaining. Because I want to.

2. David made me very mad this weekend...he sort of messed up, in a big way. And I let him off way easy...because everyone makes mistakes.

3. I pretended to be interested in Stargate AND Deadliest Catch this weekend....was not. but did it for him

I made it through a weekend with my MIL (whom I adore), my mother (not so much), and my ex's widow (can't stand her...) without:

1) tearing out ALL of my hair
2) strangling either of the latter two mentioned above.

I can say this much...NEVER again. Mom (MIL) was basically ignored by both boys once Ma and that other woman showed up. :cursing::cursing:

I didn't kick my MIL and SIL from here to New freaking Mexico yesterday.

That's got to count for something.

Oh and I remembered to make his lunch today... complete with chocolate bunny parts.

1. I was up until 1:30 Saturday night (well, I guess that'd be Sunday morning) cleaning the house after we had dinner guests, and ironing Sunday morning's church clothes.

2. When I had to go nurse Sadie rather than finish my delish lunch at the Yacht Club yesterday, I only complained about 5 times.

3. I haven't shown my impatience to my son today. He's extremely talkative this morning. I didn't get enough sleep 'cause Sadie strangely was up some during the night (usu. sleeps all night long). I'm tired and feeling impatient and annoyed, but I'm doing fairly well not showing it.

Oh well, I was totally mean with dh this week, but I refrain myself to stab him with a knife... LOL

Well the only awesomeness I can think right now is that I'm always volunteer tranlator when medical missions come to El Salvador and I help to boild a bridge in a poor comunity last week.

I am dog sitting my inlaws dog. You have to see this dog to believe it. I am scoring major points for this.

I steamed the carpets twice. The first time was because it needed it. The second was after the guys brought in all the mud from outside along with a little bit of manure. And I did it without one snide comment.

hmmms....

I always get out of bed and deal with the Kids on P's days off. At like. 8 am. I never get to sleep in but I don't complain because he's a beast if he doesn't get to sleep in.

Saturday night I was up till 1 am making sausage balls because I know how much le loves sausage.

I didn't strangle him when he yelled at ME after church when he was really mad at my aunt.

Yesterday he found out his mom has breast cancer, when we were at MY mom's and I promptly sent him to bed where he slept all day and didn't have to deal with my ANNOYING relatives.

When dinner came, I made him a plate so he wouldn't not get Easter dinner.

Hmmm...

I did all of his laundry

And I didn't tell his adult children to get off of my property and never darken my doorway again...and believe me I wanted to.

I'm doin' laundry today! That is all the awesomeness I can handle in one day. Oh and all my kids made it to school semi clean and NOT hopped up on Easter Candy!!!!

um, i didn't smack him after finding out he ate my last piece of pizza.

i further restrained myself when he informed me there's still one slice of HIS pizza that i could have --- pizza i cannot stand, a fact he's completely aware of.
