OMG THAT WAS PAINFUL TO WATCH

I wanted to puke my guts up onto the untalented moron who produced such garbage based on such an amazing story.

Everyone involved in this production should be shot. Except Emmett. Cuz dang he's hot.

I mean, did they tell the actors, "Please act like you are uncomfortable and in pain the entire time. Right, just like you're constipated. And have no personality at all."

I'm in pain. Severe pain.

And my small children covered their hands and everything else in my house with sticky glue while I was watching the miserable show.

I am so glad that I did not drag my husband to the show to see this. I feel like I need to read the book again to remember how good the story is after it has been so butchered by the movie.

I will die now.

I agree completely, Kellie! I don't know how anyone could possibly like even the main characters based only upon the movie or what would persuade them to go back for a second helping with a sequel.

omgoodness, darcy, lol. i'm so sorry.

i was so caught up in my disgust that i didn't even realize i never referenced the movie.

I can't tell you how many arguments stemmed from this very issue in the early days of my marriage. Joel has now learned to follow my train of thought better, and I, in turn, have tried to learn that people can't read my mind and probably need to know what I'm talking about in order to follow what I'm saying.

LOL Kellie - it's no problem. I haven't read it or watched it, so just never got the reference. I intend to be the last person on the planet to be twilight free ;)

nope..i'm right there w/ya hahha NO desire lmbo

My dd watched it though and I heard some of it...I was lost and didn't care woot!

Yes-Emmett saved the day for me too...It was painful, I kept having to turn away...in disgust...and the glittering in the sun-OMGosh...I literally laughed out loud...
Twas one of the worst book to movie adaptations I have ever seen-

Yep, it's definitely a bad adaptation, although it's not the worst movie I've ever seen. There was virtually no character development. At least there are lots of hunky vampires to look at.

I've always said that it was horrible compared to the book.
I can't understand how someone would WANT to read the books based on seeing the movie first. It quite literally ruins the books. I think the only character in the book that translates well on screen is Alice. They pretty much hit her character right on.
Edward is so stupid and bumbling and wussy on screen compared to his wisdom, passion and strength in the book.
Bella is so much smarter and funnier in the books, too.
Blech, I only watch it because it's the book in visual form, as bad as it may be.

OMGosh! Word Mandy! This is exactly the things I thought too!

this is why I'm afraid to watch it! maybe I never will! I don't think edward is cute at all and yeah, i've heard too many bad things about it!

I thought I was the only one who felt this way about the movie!!! We watched it last night with our 10yr old DD and I laughed or grimaced the whole time. I was totally annoyed at how stoic Edward kept trying to be. The whole movie just nauseated me. It make me want to read the book again so I can remember why I like the book!!!! Ugh!!!! Glad there are move who feel this way!

I didn't care for the movie at all either... It's too choppy. Nothing flows. The way they portrayed the story was all wrong. :( However, I was told that it was a really low budget movie because no one thought it was going to be such a hit and that New Moon has triple the budget so hopefully it will be better!!!!

Yes, I really hope they do better with New Moon. It is nice to know they have a new director and a better budget! They definitely need it!

This is exactly why I haven't watched it. I did read the books, and liked them. So after hearing everyone's reviews, I just couldn't bring myself to watch it, and ruin it for myself.

I completely agree Becca. :)

I'm so glad to read that I am not the only one who felt this way after watching the movie. I didn't even make it through maybe half of it and I turned it off completely disgusted. It was awful. I had the characters built up in my mind. Then watching the movie nearly ruined it, that is why I had to turn it off. What a past of money. So here's to hoping "New Moon" is done much better. *fingers crossed*

I have the movie, had it since it's release but haven't watched it!! Because honestly I didn't like the books that much...in fact I made it through 2 and I couldn't even muster the enthusiasm to start on #3. Maybe that means I'll like the movie!?!?! Maybe I'll try and watch it tonight!!

I think they tried to be "true" to the story, but come on now, it's like a thousand page story. You can't condense that into two hours and still have a good story.

Instead of trying to tell the story as it was told in the book, they should have taken the theme of the story (i.e. the neverending love between edward & bella) and told it, using the book as a base. I in no way got the sense that the connection between the two of them swas so strong she was willing to die to be with him.

They should have let me handle the screen play, the casting and the directing. In fact, we could have done it as a team effort, and it would have ROCKED. Then we all could have afforded to support our SSD habit without limit.

The movie didn't even come close to the books. :( I was disappointed too, but Garret actually liked it, so that helped me get more into it. lol

I'm with you there too Darcy... paranormal/vampires is not on my "want to know about" list - it freaks me out. I won't ever be reading/watching it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty bad too, and even with a limited budget, that doesn't explain the bad acting!

I'll e the odd man out here...I saw the movie before I read the books and I liked the movie, so did DH...but I know if I'd read the books first I would have hated the movie...If I know a book is being adapted to a movie, then I always wait to read the book after I've seen the movie or I'm so disappointed.

Yes, the acting was rough and the budget was low, but we like vampire stories and the story line was good...I do have better hopes for New Moon, though.

I saw the movie before reading the books and while I did not love the movie, I thought it was o.k., better than some other teen romances movies out there. However, now that I have read the books, I can say that the movie sucked big time. :p

I could never say I hated the movie, I just wish they had put in some of the humor found in the book....I loved that balance between the strong emotion and the funny quips-that's what made the characters come alive in the book....I just think low budget, bad director and trying to take this book and squeeze it into 2 hours was bad from the start

Same here. No the movie wasn't the best. Actually leaving the theater I didn't care much for it. It took a friend of mine listening to the soundtrack and telling me to read the books before I cared even the bit about Twilight. I agree the movie wasn't great *but I think that comes from the fact I think Kristen Stewart did a horrible job* just my opinion ladies. The rest of the actors I like. I think with a bigger budget the next movie will be great. *If they do it right* The second book lost alot of people, and I think they should go away from the book a bit.

I, too, seriously LOLed at a lot of it in the theater. The worst for me was the Biology class scene where he smells her for the first time.
