Oh Shawna! Scarves are easy and cute and if I can do it, you can do it! (hello- fashion challenged t-shirt & jeans gal here!!!)
I would grab short length ones and tie them sideways in a knot- it looks cute and easily dresses up an outfit. But DEFINITELY keep it out of the sun- and mederma helps too. :)

I say you wear an ascot. You would look marvelous!
Seriously I am also scarf challenged.
But look at these:

And I bet there are tons of scarves on Etsy. I like the loose look. Wrap it once and then let it hang.

I'm not fashionable at all (psst...remember I'm the nerd with fuzzy un-ironed hair :p) but I just wanted to say that when I was reading what your sweet hubby wrote I though the last part was gonna say "want to MAKE OUT" :D :D :D Because chicks with neck scars and neck tattoos ARE HOT!!! ;)

First, doll, you ARE gorgeous... even your neck. (I've met Shawna, and she is about one of the most beautiful people you could ever meet.) And I think you could completely pull off the sassy scarf look! Get a few (or a few dozen) pins to jazz up the scarves. You can put the pin over the knot or instead of a knot. You will look awesome!
I've been thinking about you everyday. ((hugs))

The french twist is cute!
Something else you could do for around the house is wear a bandana. Hobby Lobby has them in a million colors.

oh Shawna. I am thinking of you...
I know old navy has those gauzy scarves that are oh so pretty & probably cooler for the summer. I agree with Julie & getting some funky pins!! That would be a cool twist. :) I think you can totally pull it off, too, BTW.
I googled how to wear a scarf & got...

crap, I was supposed to keep my neck covered? Seriously? I did not know that. Could be why my scar is pretty noticeable. I had my surgery in July too, so it was hot and sunny. lol
Ok, on a side note ... you may notice that until your neck even starts to heal, you won't want anything touching it. It drove me nuts to have anything touch it - shirts, blankets, towels ... etc. Which made me thankful I had the surgery done when it was warmer, cause I could wear less material and not chance anything touching it.
