I am thinking about opening an Etsy store and selling the things I crochet. I do a little mixture of differnt things doilies/hats/blankets/small toys (like Amigurumi) but Im trying to get an idea on if this would be popular or what...I cant say the picture is the best quality but just wanted to take a quick one tonight. If I sold it I would of course have better photographs and some closeups to get a little detail and it would be packaged nicer for sale. Most likely with a pretty ribbon tied around it in a coordinating color/print. It is a baby blanket around 34x34 square and the colors are just a tad off. It is a combination of roses/pinks and green verigated yarn along with the off white yarn. Id ask somewhere between 30 and 40 dollars for it. So what do you think about it?

It's very pretty, but it's not something I'd buy. Now, don't get me wrong--I don't think it's something you couldn't sell. I just wouldn't buy it because I can make my own. I do think that the price you're thinking is a bit high--but I'm cheap AND thinking of how much/little disposable income people have right now. We're not suffering by any means, but that's still a lot for a baby blanket.

Just my 2¢.

Thanks...the price is just what I saw other people selling similar ones for. I used to sell on ebay and had no problem selling baby blankets for 25-30 dollars a piece so that is why I figured 30 wouldnt be so bad. The thing that turns me off of ebay is that its changed so much and it seems like it mostly for the buyers now and not the sellers. I had to many people bid and not pay so I just dont want to go back through that again. Etsy seemed to be set up more or less so that it guaranteed the payment for you.

I wouldn't buy it because I have grandmas that knit and crochet LOL. Otherwise, I know how much work goes into these things, and I'd pay $30 for sure for it.

If I was in the market for a crocheted blanket, it's definitely something I would buy. And I wouldn't probably balk at the price. I don't know how to knit or crochet, though my sister does...lol! :)

This.

I crochet. So, I have a hard time buying other crocheted stuff. Now, if it was knit, then I'd be all over it! :) I refuse to take the time to learn how to knit.

That looks beautiful, and if I were in the market for something like this I'd definetly put you high on my list! I love your choice of colours, and as I just did a quick etsy search, I like yours better than anything that came up on the first five pages!! It wouldn't hurt to open up a shop! Let us know if you do!! (I'm working on inventory right now for an etsy shop of my own, I hope to open soon!)
