I may cry!!!

What kind of cameras do you all have. I think I know what I'm asking for for Mothers Day. :blink:
 
I just got a Canon Rebel xsi a couple months ago and I love it. Before that I had a Canon G9 P&S - I'd definitely recommend that series if you're not interested in moving up to the SLR line. :thumbup: A new camera sounds like a fantastic mother's day gift. :thumbup:
 
I have 2 cameras... canon rebel xti and a sweet little Canon Powershot SD1100 for my purse. I think my new 'go-to' camera is the powershot now! LOL I've been really happy with my shots from it, but it probably doesn't match your needs. What sort of budget are you looking to stay within? What camera did you have before and did you like it?
 
I have a Canon XTi and a Nikon Coolpix S210 (I think) that is my purse camera. It is plum and I love it!

But if I didn't have my dslr I would go for an advanced p&s.
 
I have a Nikon D40 and a small Nikon S210. After using the D40, I don't really like the S210 anymore - but it does in a pinch, and it does video.
 
I have had a few...currently I have a Canon Powershot S5IS. It is pretty nice. It is an advanced P & S. The only complaint I have on it is the auto-focus is kinda off sometimes and when I try to use manual focus it doesnt always work the best either
 
I had a point and shoot Kodak....it never did work right. I dunno...can I get a good camera for $200 or so????????
 
I have a Canon Rebel XT and a Nikon Cool Pix L16 for my diaper bag (it a sweet little P&S and only like $99 bucks). If you are not wanting a DSLR....I'd have to second the Canon Power shot Jessica recommended I have the S2IS version before my Rebel and I LOVED it!!!

ohhh yes the Canon S5IS is very nice. The auto focus thing is usually only a problem outside for some reason. Like when there is alot of greenery/plants/trees in the photo it tends to want to focus on the greens which can be a problem when trying to take a picture of a person LOL
 
I have a Canon XTi (which is like my 4th baby) and then a little red Kodak M863 P&S for my purse, it takes decent photos but I probably wouldn't have it for my main camera. Before my XTi I had a Canon S2IS that I loved, so I would probably recommend one of the newer Powershot models like the Canon SX110IS or even the Canon SX10IS which is a bit cheaper.
 
We have a Nikon Coolpix 8700 that's digital and offers video. We also have a Nikon D50 DSLR and that's my favorite one. If I could go back and do it again, I'd get a D90.... or a D3 if my husband would let me.

Brand new, they aren't under $200. But maybe you can find a smokin' deal on ebay or elsewhere. It's definitely a buyers market!

I just got a Canon Rebel T1i and I have to say that I am LOVING having a DSLR and the freedom to change between lenses & such. My P&S is a Kodak Easy Share z612, it was an early version of what are now known as bridge or super-zoom cameras. It has a 12x optical zoom which is great, and I don't yet have a lens with anywhere near that zoom capability for my new camera (nor am I anywhere near affording one, lol). The Kodak also has some basic features that emulate a DSLR such as manual focus. Learning the Ins and outs of the Kodak really did set a great foundation for working with a DSLR, so I think that class of camera is great too.

I have a Panasonic FZ-30. It's a Prosumer (has lots of manual controls), super-zoom (12X optical) and a SA_WEET camera! My only complaint is that it sucks in low-light. But, I've had it for 3 years and really can't complain.
 
I also have the Canon S3IS and I love it. I am definitely wanting to upgrade, but this is a great camera. Once I figured out some more advanced options, I've been pleased.

I also have a Nikon Cool Pix, which is incredibly small and great for on-the-go stuff. Pretty inexpensive, too!
 
I have a Canon 40D that I absolutely love. I had a Rebel XT before, which was way less expensive and worked great. What is nice is that you can add lenses to your preference as your budget permits. :) And if you upgrade, you can still use the lenses.
 
I have a Canon Rebel XTi...it's awesome!

My old camera was/is the Kodak Z740...it ate batteries like my dog likes to poop! It was expensive to feed.
 
I've heard the worst things about kodak cameras. A friend of mine got one a year ago adn it would lose its charge quickly. Then it wouldn't charge. She had the warranty on it and sent it back 4 times for the same issue. Finally she demanded a store credit at best buy to get a new one. So stay away from them. I have a little sony cybershot from 5 years ago for the situation where lugging around the Nikon D70 is not feasible. I love it!
 
I have the Canon XSI Rebel and I have a Canon Powershot, I've had it forever and I always used powershots before I switched to my first rebel.
 
I have a Rebel XT, Dh has an XTi. My DS has a Powershot, which I generally grab when the kids are playing or something inside, because my XT doesn't have a lens. I share lenses with DH but he's gone all the time, so I never have one on my camera!
