...we've decided to take over my dad's house, the house i grew up in. at first i didnt want it because its in a really tiny town with nothing to do and i always hated growing up here. the two closest towns with stores are 7 miles and about 20 miles away, lol. but its a very quiet town, a great place to raise the kids and everyone looks out for each other. my dad has been on unemployment forever and cant find work so he's going to go look for work in Ft. Wayne. if he finds work he was either going to try to sell this house or let it the bank take it. well, Chad really wants it. and i hated the idea of it being foreclosed. i did grow up here so i'm quite fond of it. its a big old house, over 200 years old. built in the late 1800's. it needs a lot of personal touches; dad has let a lot of things go since my mom left. the carpet in the living room is in really bad shape, we'll probably replace the vinyl tile in the dining room and kitchen and it needs a new bathtub, not to mention i'll be painting every room, lol. i have to make it completely my own in order to live here. and eventually i want new siding. its yellow and i have always hated it. but that will take time. its a big 2 story house so it won't be cheap so we'll have to wait and get a loan later on. the mortgage is only $400 a month, lol. i think he owes $40,000 on it. at first we'll just take over the payments, eventually we'll change the name on it. right now its just not the right time because i think theyed want an appraisal on it and blah blah blah. so my dad opened up a bank account that we'll put the money in and the bank will just take it out of that account. i'll have to take some pictures of it. it has a garage, a fence and a pool. the pool needs a lot of work; he hasn't opened it up in about 2 years and doesn't have a cover for it so the water is ucky green and the filter is broke on it. we're thinking of just emptying it out and putting a new liner in it and having the fire department fill it (which isn't going to be cheap!). might as well enjoy it if i have it now huh? and it has a big deck around it with a ladder that swings up and locks so the kids can't get it! yay for safety! :D don't know how long it will take for my dad to find work and move however so in the meantime we're all roomies. oh, and my 24 year old brother still lives here but my mom says he's trying to get an apartment with his girlfriend. i don't want to kick him out but he needs to spread his wings and fly, lol. i'll get some pics and share later!

sounds great!! In the meantime..little bro can help pay for stuff :) room and board :)

lol, he pays for the internet and dishNetwork. but he never really helped my dad out. he should. but, hopefully he will find an apartment with his girlfriend and move out. besides, his room really needs redone. the plaster is falling off of his walls, lol. it will probably be Aidan's room. :p
