Frustrating beyond belief....

My son is 21 months and trying to take his picture makes me want to pull my hair out. He loves to look at the pictures after they have been taken, on the little screen, so as soon as the camera beeps he is moving to come look at his picture. It is so frustrating because my camera beeps when it is focusing, so he is always moving before I can snap his picture. Ahhhhhhh....it drives me crazy!

Does anyone else have this problem with their toddlers?

It is crazy to get good pictures of busy toddlers! When I take pictures of my 2 year old, I ask him if he sees Elmo (or whoever) in my camera. Or I have my husband do crazy funny things right behind me.

I stopped trying. That doesn't mean I didn't take pictures, but I didn't make a huge effort. If they did something cute, I'd do my best to get a shot without them being aware of me/the camera. And I turned off the beep and the shutter noise on the cameras I had when they were that age.

Um, definitely the age. I haven't photographed my daughter in a few weeks. I try to go outside when I do so she will be distracted by other things. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But you're not alone...

We have LOTS of candid shots of Madelyn at this age...in fact, it's only going to get worse! LOL My 3 year old hardly sits still long enough for the picture not to blur! LOL

Yorick is a tough subject. I have to get him when he's "thinkin'".
You know I've noticed that if you have the camera out A LOT... and I mean A LOT... they tend to not notice it as much after awhile.

or you end up with a kid like ce who has a zillion dorky poses ready to go now ^_^

that age is hard, when mine was that age I would give her a piece of scotch tape to play with, she would often sit still for that. I also used a roll of smarties as bribery... it worked well for me :)
