I want something MODEST yet MODERN. I.E. I don't wanna look like a granny, but I don't want my non-cleavage to be showing, either. All of Old Navy's suits do that V-neck thing that says, "Look how my ribs stick out where my breasts should be" and I don't personally do the "This is what I look like in my underwear but it is okay for me to go out in public like this because i call this a swimsuit" bikini look, either. (Though I in no way judge those who DO go for that look; I mean, if you gals wanna have a bikini contest here, Ill judge THAT, but I wont be able to participate, sadly. :p)

So can somebody give me a clue as to where I should shop? I will lylas if you can help me out.

Oh, i forgot to say that I would love to find some board shorts to wear with my swimsuit...TOTAL bonus points for finding me a swimsuit with matching board shorts. Then I would never need to shave my bikini line. (After all, I feel certain that my husband really in his heart LIKES the jungle look.)

Lands End usually has a great line of mix and match kinda swimsuits. They can be $$, but it's worth it to find the right suit.

I have found a decent one at Sears before and then bought matching shorts at Wal-Mart.

I get mine at Lands End. They carry them at Sears if you want to try them on & then you can order the color you like if Sears doesn't have them

I'm a huge fan of Victoria's Secret's swim lines. They have lots of mix and match styles, in all kinds of styles.
I've also been on the JCrew site recently, and they've got some really nice options too.

Gotta agree with the gals that said Lands End!

They are constantly running sales now too..

Fabulous quality, their tankini's really cover, and they have board shorts to match!

I usually go for the tankini look (helps cover up the "my baby's not so much a baby anymore but I still have the belly" lol) and the last two years I've found mine at JC Penney's. A lot of their suits have the matching board shorts too.

We can actually get Land's End in the UK - do you recommend them for those of us on the larger size as well?

I'm looking for a new swimsuit too - the one I have emphasises my current spherical shape too well, and the 'soft cup' support is a nightmare. I already have big boobs, but when this support (basically foam) gets wet, my boobs look HUGE.

As has been said, Land's End are pricey, but if it makes me look/ feel good, I'm willing to splash out (get it?).

This is exactly what I was about to post. :)

I bought a one-piece Miracle Suit at Nordstrom's last year and I  it!!!! It holds the tummy in and has a nice attractive top on it. I just need to find some board shorts to go over it. :)

I vote for Lands' End too!

Sara, I got a couple of tops from there last year and one pair of bottoms so I can switch off and on. I love them - the fabric is great and they have underwire tops for those of us who are a little more well-endowed. ;) And control tummies in their more modern suits too so you don't have to settle for granny-looking just because you need extra control.

I am a plus sized girl and my suit came from Land's End...I love their selection and many are two pieces which is great for me because I'm bigger up top than I am below...I also don't have any issues finding even a two piece that stays where it should-and I also have a cute little matching swim skirt...which I never take off.
It was kinda cashy but this will be my 3rd year using it-so I look at it that way-they last!

Dang it. :( I am striking out all around.

Sarah had the funnest links! I loved that Lime Ricki, but they didnt have anything that fit me, plus I felt kinda like I was looking at soft porn, lol.

Lands End would be perfect, especially since they are having a HUGE sale right now, but the top I want isnt available in petite. :( i do like their virtual model feature, though.

I found this (http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?DeptID=50434&CatID=51410&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=157c06c&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=50434|50446|51410&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=18&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=50434|50446|51410&mscssid=675f6dd76991f4df8916cd203b4bfe749xMnVNoV5a GWxMnVNoV5aGo200BA3FCDFFDEAD3FCD0DA6ABD0B02D03B650 914703=) at JCP, but they dont have it in my size. :(

And oh, Colleen, to be young and chesty and unafraid of the laughter of others, lol. I couldnt wear those sexy swimsuits you lead me too, though I am now considering breast implants...theyre not so expensive these days, right?

I am currently searching at Sears, but I am close to giving up. I am going to the beach with my inlaws next month, so I may just end up in my shorts & tank top, and I suppose they wont care either way.

I'm mourning my age right now.

Ok I am on the bigger side myself but I have found really cute suits the last couple years at the avenue and I believe they start at a size 14?

Kellie - if you are still looking? sorry, late poster, been really sick.

not cheap sites, and these are with models who all give me complexes, because they are Fit, Buff, and Beautiful and mostly Supermoms running marathons and stuff.. but a great selection of mix and match with board shorts, petite sizes and the like, and stuff you can swim and/or catch running toddlers in without flashing innocent relatives/non-relatives with body parts you'd like best covered...

not sure how they'd be to ship to you, but you'd know that dance better than I... HTH!
