There's one in Dallas and I found a coupon online to get the kids in for free! But I am wondering if the Royalty Upgrade is worth it or not????

ETA: Dh & I decided to skip the upgrade! They have knight costumes so they will SOOO wear them. They are going to love it! We are going on Sat, 20 June!

my husband and I went when my middle son was really young. That was years ago. So Im not sure about the royalty upgrade as that was not available when we went. The show was pretty cool and the food was surprisingly really good. They do a good job of involving the audience and the one we went to in Kissimmee/Orlando they have a "museum" of sorts to walk through while you are waiting to be seated that shows stuff from that time period. (some cool stuff some kinda scary for little kids IMO)

I've never been to one of these restaurants, unfortunately there isn't one near me... but I LOVE going to Renaissance faires and my family goes in full garb! We're nerds! lol!
We love the period shows and food, and the flea market type shops set up there.

I'd do the upgrade, I'm not really sure what it is but I'm sure it's worth it. If dining there is going to be one of those once-in-a-lifetime things for your family, go for it! :) And have fun!!!!

Having been there and loved it, I def don't think the upgrade is worth it.
But I went for my 25th birthday with all people my age and up. So, take that with a grain of salt.

The food is just so-so...you get a cornish game hen, rolls, two glasses of whatever drink you choose (tea, coffee...) so it isn't like you have fine dining.

We've gone to the one in SoCal many times from when my boys were young, and even while they were in high school. You have to go knowing that you are going to have a knight that you will cheer for, and be prepared to yell at the opposing teams, call your waitress "wench", etc...I don't know about the Royalty upgrade, but you probably get better seats, and maybe a photo or something. We really enjoy it, and if you have period type costumes, I'd definitely wear them. We don't, but that would be such fun!

we went about 7 years ago in Los Angeles. We had a blast! One recommendation though, bring your own napkins!! They didn't give us any because that was part of the whole 'experience'. I have no idea if the upgrade is worth it. I think we had basic seats and were fine with it. I should really try to salvage the photos from there. Because there is a net that comes up during the fights, I had a hard time with pics.... and that was before my conversion to a digital camera too. Anyway, it was great fun for me, my DH, and my son was 11.

My hubby and son went when we went to Anaheim...they had a blast! My hubby said that the food was good, too. They really enjoyed the whole experience... :) (DH's uncle even nominated him to be knighted, lol...he was SO embarrassed).

We've gone twice at Myrtle Beach. I'd skip the upgrade - seating is first come, first served except for the front row (the upgrade) so as long as you get there a 1/2 a hour to a hour early you should be fine as long as it isn't a super busy night. We went on Mother's day (Mother's got in free!) and got there 45 minutes early and sat on the second row.

My 5-year old really got into being allowed to Boo the bad guy!

I know when we went in Chicagoland we upgraded to be guaranteed closer seats but we said we wouldn't again!! We had a blast!!
