Sims 3...

Who's got it? :) I got Sims 2 not too long ago and a few expansion packs, but this one has me intrigued...I'm in the process of buying it, lol...

Dude, I'd never played Sims at all before until a few weeks ago. I bought Sims 2 and a couple of expansion packs, and I'm HOOKED. I'm gonna wait til I'm sick of those before I splurge on 3. LOL!

Seriously, Sims 2 cracks me the heck up. Some of the problems they come up with have me in stitches. My first night playing I just about burned my kitchen down and gave the husband guy food poisoning. Since then they've gone on to raise 3 happy children (who are getting ready to go off to college.) LOL! This is serious stuff, ya know. ;)

LOL, I think I'm gonna play Sims 2 a bit more...I've never done anything successfully on it yet. But I can't seem to checkout from EA's site with Sims 3, so...I guess I have to wait. LOL!

ETA: That's not entirely true...I did manage to kill my one sim...she had too many babies in a row and died of exhaustion. Who knew? LMAO!

HAAAAAAAAAAAA! I haven't killed one yet. Kendra has played, and she keeps starting new families because hers keep getting their children taken away by social services.

I fully admit to cheating and maximizing their needs when they start getting low. The way I see it, I have enough money issues & stress irl, and this is supposed to be fun. I don't need to worry about killing my Sims family. So, I do the old Ctrl + Shift + C and then maxMotives anytime they start getting low. ;)

The only cheat I use is the one to give them millions of Simoleans, lol...then I don't have to worry about them going to work. I still MAKE them work because then they're out of my hair for several hours a day, but still...lol...if they get fired or whatever, no biggie. ;)

*snort* I use that cheat, too. AND I still make them go to work for the same reason. The stupid Sims husband recently had a midlife crisis and had to change careers, but since they already started out with more money than they can ever spend, it wasn't a big deal to let him start over in a new career. LOL!

I don't think I'm going to buy the Sims 3. I actually just got back into playing the Sims 2 and I'm enjoying that quite a bit :) I'm a cheater too...always maximizing motives...sooo much easier that way, lol!!

never tried Sims 2. Had Sims and all the expansion packs for that. Really, really want Sims 3 though.

i was really big on Sims 2 a few years ago and for 2 years i created sims clothing for others to download, until i discovered digiscrap! hehe
i had a download site for it, too... but just last month i took it down :(

i've managed to kill a guy sim hehe he slept with almost every female sim he met! hehe then i reset the game without saving so he lived! :D

i've seen the previews of sims3, but the people looks the same as from sims2?

I was a Sims 1 player and had all the expansion packs.

I got Sims 3 this week and it has taken away some of my scrapping time. I just looove this game!

I used to be so addicted to Sims 1. I even made furniture and paintings and stuff to go in my houses. I bought Sims2 and didn't like how 3D it was. It made my head spin. LOL I prolly shouldn't even think about getting Sims3 cuz I really don't need something else to distract me from designing. LOL

I want Sims 3 SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, but I'm not going to do it, not yet at least. You girls will have to tell me all about it though!

I really want to get Sims 3 but Sims 2 did in my old computer (had to buy a new video card only to find out Sims 2 was SLOW on it) which resulted in my purchasing a new computer. My current computer has been having some issues (memory leaks and random write issues) so my guess is that Sims 3 will require a newer one thus I'm putting it off... (Nothing like having a $50 purchase turn into a $$$ one!)

I bought the original Sims but could never figure out how to play. I do love those types of games though. I had Sim Coaster for awhile and some virtual zoo type game which were both really fun

I also bought a new computer so that Sims would be speedier. (which then led to PSCS3 because the computer could handle more than the other PS version I was running)

Anway - thank you! thank you for letting me know I wasn't alone in my madness (that my husband has given up trying to understand)

My name is Jill. I have an addictive personality and I look for time intensive hobbies.

eta: while he doesn't understand it - he (my husband) does enable me. My anniversary is this Saturday - I expect I'll be getting the collector's edition.

Girls I totally have to get Sims 3!!!!! I have played all the sims games and I love love love them! Hook me up!

lol, I try to stay away from sims. It takes over my life. My sims house ends up looking better than my irl house(as in cleanliness). One time(and I can't remember what version it was) but on of the neighbor ladies was pissing me off, flirting with my husband, and trying to fight with me. I walled her in and she died. lol!

LOL, I love to wall in people

or my personal favorite is to have them take a swim and then remove the ladder.....

bwahahahahaha

still installing....

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I seriously haven't played Sims in like a month now. I still haven't installed University. I'm thinking of taking a few days off next week, so I just might have to break it out.

Removing the ladder. *snort* I'm so doing that.

so in the last few days I decided to make a tru blood community in my sims 2. I've had to make sookie THREE times. She keeps dying on me. Seriously!!! She died of starvation while pregnant with Bill's kid, she died from total exhaustion, and she died in a fire. Seriously, what's the dilly-o?

lmbo! That's hilarious Samara!!!! I love when you try to level up on one of your skills with the woodmaking bench and make like an army of gnomes! cracks me up!

So far I've avoided Sims 3...but I *did* get all the expansion packs for Sims 2, lol...well except the "stuff" expansion packs, lol. I've gotten the hang of University...now I'm trying to get the whole Open For Business one under control (but I keep knocking up my girl, lol...I figure she can work from home while pregnant, right? wrong, she keeps getting like SUPER sick when she's pregnant, she's got like 4 babies now, lol...oh, and the nanny hates her...wth).

I wuv Sims2!!! I had it on my laptop and most of the expansions. But when I got PSE I was having problems with space and such. SO I had to take Sims off. I was so sad. Still am. I love to play.

I love making my dream house and well, yeah killing people. Love when they come back as ghost and scare the people living at home.!!!

DD had a few families but she ket having her kids taken away too.

Ha Ha I have one and two and my DH thinks I'm nuts! He wants to know how it is a stress reliever for me when the problems and responsibilities in Sims world are bigger than the ones in our own! LOL

But, I love it! Going to have to check out 3.

Okay... I'm a longtime sims player and I'm going to be up front and honest. If you use a lot of custom content... I use a LOT of custom content... (modthesims2.com is the best free site around) then wait a WHOLE YEAR before you get Sims 3. EA made it so flippin' complicated that the designers haven't been able to figure out how to even make new hair or clothes yet.

So yeah.

Gonna be awhile before any coolness sets in.

That being said, yes I got it release date, yes, I play it. And I miss my custom content.

eep, I have to wait until at least another 3 weeks before I can even THINK of getting it because we have to get a new tower anyhow so I figure ya know what not....I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sims, have played both 1 & 2 and I can NOT wait until I get 3. I've read some stories people post on livejournal and seriously....I'm in love lol. If anyone wants to read, this person set their sims to be homeless, and has the most addictive storyline ever going here is the blub on the top of their blog:

Welcome to the tale of Alice and Kev.

This is an experiment in playing a homeless family in The Sims 3. I created two Sims, moved them in to a place made to look like an abandoned park, removed all of their remaining money, and then attempted to help them survive without taking any job promotions or easy cash routes. It’s based on the old ‘poverty challenge’ idea from The Sims 2, but it turned out to be a lot more interesting with The Sims 3’s living neighborhood features.

I have attempted to tell my experiences with the minimum of embellishment. Everything I describe in here is something that happened in the game. What’s more, a surprising amount of the interesting things in this story were generated by just letting go and watching the Sims’ free will and personality traits take over.

Seriously, I am hooked on this story that I check about 4x a day to see if they've updated it lol. Here is the link (takes you to the beginning of the story.)

I'm a simmer! check me out...

I LooooooooooVE Sims3!!! Played 2 ALL the time and had almost all the expansions. I admit that I miss my families from S2 but I am now in too much love with S3 to go back. LOL I spent a lot of time on the Sims3 forum reading about everything, to begin with. Before you get it you really do need to make sure you can run the program effectively! I haven't had any problems running the game.

My sister and dd have taken over my game at times also, they are getting as addicted as I am. It is REALLY different in a number of ways.
You don't save your family as a separate game save in the same old town. Each game save saves a version of that town. Creating and playing with a new family will start with a new version of the town. In order to have multiple self-made families in the same town, you create all your families, move them into houses in the same town and then select one active household to play. Yes, you may switch to a different household later on during game play but you will lose certain wants/wishes/challenges that your active sim is currently working on. AND if you don't turn off aging and story progression mode, the other sim households will automatically 'live' without your guidance! Some don't like it but I think it is cool to see your single girl get a roommate, become your coworker, move to a different house, etc. I personally turn off aging cause I like them to live forever ;)

I LOVE the new customization tools, you can practically recolor and pattern everything! Don't like that drab couch? Give it a complete new look for free! You can use the color picker or HEX numbers.

You tell them what to do (from a list of options) while they are at work or school. For example, stressed out and tired of working hard? hang with co-workers or sleep on the job. Forget to do your homework last night? finish it at school. Schmooze with the boss and increase your chances of getting that raise.

Parties can have more than 2 people invited!! lol and they bring dishes over too, what nice guests.

If you love to garden, omg you'll love this!! Grow money trees, flame fruit, life fruit, death flowers, egg-plants, cheese plants, steak and patty plants too!! Fish for shark, jellyfish, angelfish and vampire fish... with garlic of course.

If you catch a Mysterious Mr. Gnome, watch out! He moves while you're not looking. :p

btw, Pools... you can't drown them now cause they don't need a ladder to get out. ;) but you can build walls around the edge.

I've taken a couple screen shots from my game and you can check them out to see some of the details. this is my Sims3 page- http://www.thesims3.com/myMedia.html?action=default&persona=Kswans321

Oh, I totaly forgot to say that now is a great time to buy it. I got mine the weekend after it released and payed $60 for it only to find that dropped like $20 the following week! ugg

I have the Sims 3, and it didn't play on my computer, so I had to install it manually. Check the website and the tech posts because many people are still having computer issues due to graphics, installer, etc.

As for the game, I love that you don't have to LOAD anything! You can run or jog to school or work and they have all sorts of hidden fun things to do. A ton more options and although the people look the same, the graphics are much better (more in-depth details).

Assuming they have expansions, I will never go back to Sims2.
