Losing Teeth...

the order they came in?

not positive on an actual order so NI why i'm answering..but I would imagine one of the top/bottom 2 middle teeth would come out first..then the eyes after that, etc

Well. I happen to know the answer to this. Go figure. ;)

They typically lose them in pairs. Meaning the "matching" teeth come out around the same time. That's usually, not always.

Bottom front 2
top front 2
bottom laterals (teeth next to front ones)
top laterals
then usually bottom cuspids (eye teeth)
and top eye teeth

The rest sorta vary. I've seen kids that have broken all of these rules though. LOL

my first 3 kids lost their bottom fronts first and then the top fronts. Usually around age 6. That is why the first grade always sings "All I Want For Christmas Is My 2 Front Teeth" at Christmas. Then the next 2 then the inscisors and then the rest come a few years later.
My younger 2 have not lost any yet but they are only 5.

Sigh... believe it or not, I do miss working on teeth. Sometimes I make Kendra let me look in her mouth just for kicks. LOL! She doesn't find it humorous.

My 5.5 yo has her first loose tooth... it is the first tooth she got! So I wonder if the one next to it will get loose too.

I am really excited about her losing teeth... but her baby teeth are kind of tight/crowded so still puzzling over how adult teeth will come in. I'm sure she has braces in her future, *sigh*...

Thanks, girls! One of Mason's bottom front teeth is really wiggly and I thought it was supposed to be the top ones that came out first, so I was wondering. :)

OMG! My son is almost 4, so he'll be losing his baby teeth before we know it! :( Not excited!.... Ok, I am for the pictures and layouts! lol!

Benjamin lost 8 teeth, but now he's almost 9 and hasn't lost another in about 2 years. He will definitely need braces, his baby teeth were very crowded, and there's just not enough room for the bigger teeth.

Amelia lost her bottom two, but nothing else yet (she's 6). She was almost a year old before she had teeth, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer.

My oldest was the same way (she just turned 11). Then about a year ago she started losing teeth again and she is down to finally one baby tooth left :crying:

I've also noticed my 7 year old is doing the same thing....she has lost a steady amount of teeth since 5.5 years old and I think she is at a total of 6 gone.

My oldest started losing her teeth at 4 1/2 (she's 5 now), which I thought was really early, but then I had to consider that she had 3 teeth at 3 months old. Those first 3 teeth are the only ones she's lost so far, so she seems to be losing them in the order they came in, so far at least.

lol. it's so weird how there is an order. lukas and mason have started in the right order. maddie started with her top 2. weirdness.

I was glad to read this because my DS lost his first tooth a couple of weeks ago at 4 1/2 years old. Everybody has been sooo surprised that he's already started losing his teeth, but he had allll his baby teeth before he was 16 months old, including his 2 year molars.

Libby is correct! Surprise! LOL hahaha Just kidding! But just because those are the "NORM" does't mean it will happen that way for everyone. There is always Someone who will not fit those rules! LOL

There is my Dental PSA for the day!

You had to know I would pipe up here once the word TEETH was in the Main heading! LOL

My first love, really! Followed VERY CLOSELY by Digiscrapping! If I could find a way to do both at one time, I'd be in heaven!

I know! I never thought I'd miss working, but I sorta do. I don't miss the doctors. ;) But I miss the patients and actually working in mouths. I know that grosses people out. LOL! But I love it.

How many baby teeth are there for kids to lose? Just out of curiosity. I don't remember from when I was a kid, lol....I only actually remember losing about 4 of them.

Libby you are so right, I just threw up in my mouth a little! I think teeth and feet are worse than the people I used to have to deal with nasty dirty hair when I was a hairdresser!

All 20 of them! Unless they are missing perm. adult teeth then they will retain the primary/baby tooth for awhile. 10 on top and 10 on the bottom. Last ones are the back baby molars (usually).

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha!!!!! Now feet COMPLETELY gross me out. OMG I could never have to give pedicures. I don't even like LOOKING at feet (I seriously wear socks year round cause I hate feet so much).

I guess I just have a tooth fetish. ;)
