A friend of mine, stephanie, has a 2 yr old little boy(same age as my daughter) and a 4 month old. They just found out yesterday that their 4 month old, Tyler, has leukemia. Specifically ALL. Anyhow, they could use some major prayers. I was reading the internet(should just not even do that) and when infants get it they are harder to treat successfully. So please pray for a miracle.

Thanks so much everyone. The doctors have been running a whole bunch of tests today and administering the first dose of chemo. He was in surgery to place a central line and have a bone marrow biopsy and spinal tap done. Apparently those went great. So thank you so much!

Emily, Bree's little guy was diagnosed with ALL when he was 2.5 years old. You may want to PM her for advice / support / information.

Please tell your friend that after 2.5 years of chemo and treatments, Mason is completely cancer free! Childhood Luekemia is a VERY BEATABLE form of cancer! HUGS for you and your friends!!!

Emily....Jae just directed me to this thread...please tell your friend that she and her family are in my thoughts! As Jae said...I've been down this road with Mason, so definitely grab me if you need anything or if your friend has any questions. Also, direct her to this list:

http://www.lsoft.com/scripts/wl.exe?SL1=ALL-KIDS&H=LISTSERV.ACOR.ORG

The ladies on there are EXCELLENT...they were a huge support for me and answered questions for me repeatedly while I was going through it (I'm on there still but don't participate - just not enough hours in the day). They've all been through it, and live in different areas of the country - she may even make some friends that will meet her at the hospital during his treatments and such.

Also, don't believe everything that you read on the internet...childhood leukemia (especially ALL) is one of the most common types of cancer in children, and has a huge success rate - there are different "types" within it, which change the percentages, but Mason had Pre-B ALL, Medium Risk...and has an 85-90% of never seeing it again.

(((hugs))) to you, your friend and especially her little boy! Children are SO resilient and I have full faith that they will make it through this and be successful! It will be a hard road, I'm not going to lie, but she CAN and WILL make it through to the other side, and be a stronger, better person for it - as will her son!
