Web-based email

What is the best web-based email host out there? I've been using Yahoo mail for a long time but lately it has been having some issues. Often it won't even let me access it at all- it displays a connection interrupted page. Then when I do get in, there's times where I can't reply or compose a message... so frustrating! So what do you all use and what do you like/dislike about it?
 
I've had my hotmail account for (at least) 13 years and I know I had an account there before I was married so probablly another 5 to 6 years and I've never had a problem with it!!!!! I don't like Gmail.......it gets way more spam then my hotmail account....I'd say with Hotmail (that I use for EVERYTHING) i get 4 to 5 a day. With my gmail account I get 100-200 a day!!!! :glare:
 
I agree hotmail is good. Ive used yahoo and hotmail since I have been online and never had a problem with them. Never tried Gmail
 
Oh see, I don't have a problem with the spam in gmail cause it has the filter and everything sorts into that. I very very rarely have spam end up in my inbox, and i never have 'real' mail end up in spam. I glance in the spam folder every few days just to make sure, but there's never anything in there.

I love that gmail archives the messages so that they're never really gone. You never think you'll need old messages but I can't tell you how many times I've looked up something from 3-4 years ago. I also love that I can sort things into folders as it comes in. Like when I get my order notifications from the shop here, they all go straight to my special folder so they never get mixed in with my "real" mail.
 
gmail!!!! my gmail gets no spam, well. one of them. I have another acct of online things that gets plenty, but always to the spam box.

Also you can make your yahoo acct set up to use in your gmail acct. You can login to gmail and email from there and make it appear to come from your yahoo acct. that is, if you don't totally drop it all together. I have 2 gmail accts and a hotmail acct all go to my gmail inbox and I LOVE it!

x2! I sort and archive everything so that it's never really gone.

i have never had gmail, but it sounds great!! i am a hotmailer. i've had the same hotmail account now for 11 years. in those 11 years i've gotten near to no spam. it's fab. i have a secondary on yahoo and that thing is spammed like mad!
 
I love my gmail, its always been quicker than my hotmail account. And I never liked yahoo's interface, so I never use that account.
 
it's such a nice feature. however, i don't wanna get my yahoo on my hotmail. lol ALL THAT SPAM- makes me crazy.

I have my hotmail acc since... well, since always! LOL
I use my yahoo acc for RL and gmail for my virtual life stuff. KWIM?
Never get ONE spam at my yahoo acc, but gmail and hotmail... tsk, tsk = fail!! :p
 
I love my hotmail, I have two accounts with them and I love how I can switch between the two without logging in and logging out. I have my gmail stuff delivered to my hotmail box as well. Yahoo is horrible for spam all I ever clear from that is junk. Hugs Crystal xx
 
I've tried them all, lol...gmail is by FAR the best one out there!

I have had several hotmail accounts - had trouble with attachments (huge PITA at the time) and emails took forever to get to that account. It would mark non-spam as spam quite often, and send through spam to my inbox. Annoying!

Yahoo is glitchy...hate it!

Gmail for me...I get lots of spam BUT as Libby said, it filters it and the filters are pretty bang-on...VERY rarely do I get non-spam in the spam folder, or spam in my inbox. Plus it's got pretty cool features (a calendar and stuff) and apparently now you can log in "offline"...I have no idea how that works, I have to figure it out. And you can add any POP3 email accounts to it and have them come in and filter to wherever you'd like. It took me a while to get used to gmail, I'll admit...I came from Outlook and Thunderbird...but now I use it exclusively...so much better (in Outlook/Thunderbird, you have to download EVERY single email, even if it's spam...then it filters it...that's the problem with email programs vs. online email).
 
I have hotmail and gmail. I've had hotmail since the first day I got the internet, and I haven't had a problem at all. The only thing I don't like about hotmail is, it doesn't work in Outlook, which is why I got gmail. I love them both!
