Talking about Proactive

I've always wanted to try it out but haven't because I think I might be alergic to it. I've tried other products that have benzoyl peroxide and let me tell you it is a nightmare. After only once applying on my face I get itchy for a week. My skin gets all red and it feels like it's on fire. And I've tried it with a few products that contain benzoyl peroxide not just one. I don't break out very often but I've heard Proactive just keeps your skin really nice and clear. I really want to try it but I am scared. Has anyone tried it and had an alergic reaction to it?

I have a friend who is a facial technician (can't spell the right name for it) and she strongly advised me against Proactiv. She suggested Dermalogica prodcuts. They have been wonderful for my daughter.

Sasha, I've used it and it was okay (I think it depends on what is causing your acne and what type you have). My biggest complaint was that one of the three steps bleached out my towels (they weren't cheapies either). One of the bottles says that it may cause that, but the other two don't and it was one of them that I had a problem with. If you really want to try it without the hassle of signing up with Proactiv, there are generic versions in most stores like Target.

I have always been sensitive to bp also and when I started Proactive years ago, that was one of my main concerns, that it would irritate me like everything else. Happily, I can use Proactive without any problem! I actually don't often use the repairing lotion that contains bp, but when I do it doesn't irritate my skin. The nice thing is you have a 60 day guarantee to try it.

I've used it before and didn't really think it improved my skin at all, and like Sheri it bleached out some of my bath and hand towels :cursing: I have also used the Acne Free system which is quite similar to Proactive and had better results (and no bleached towels), you can find it @ stores like Target or Walmart and for much cheaper.

She suggested Dermalogica prodcuts. They have been wonderful for my daughter.

Kim do you buy the Dermalogica products somewhere here locally or online? I just checked out their web site and wouldn't mind trying it out :)

Thanks girls. I will have to have a family member send me the generic one from the States because we are in Poland. Proactive though I can order here but I don't think I will.
