I'm trying to use a cookie template from a while back. When I open it in Photoshop Elements 6, I only see three layers in my layers area. One is the background and two are labled as 'Pass Through'. I can't clip any pictures to any part of it. Can anyone help? Thanks! Stefani

Hi Stefani,

Hmm, I have never heard of that, What's the file name of the cookie? maybe I have it and can open it up and look?

Ditto...never heard of...let us know the file name...maybe between Tracey and I...one of us will have it.

I'm bored...sitting here scanning negatives...so I'm twiddling my thumbs until the negatives are done... lol

Cookie092408_ARaper, let me know if you need more information than this. Thanks for the help!

I have that template and I don't have that message on any of the layers. Maybe Tracey can figure it out for you. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I looked real quick in CS3...and I have like 30 layers...and nothing that says "pass through"....did you open the PSD file? I think I have up to PSE 5...I can get that loaded on a computer and check for you if you would like.

The PSD file...what is the size of it? Mine is 8.78MB

I'm wondering if there were 2 versions. I have that template (it's a two pager) but my file says Cookie092408_ARaper_nofolders. In the full version of PS you can group layers into "folders" and that still shows all the layers in other full versions of PS. But PSE does not support folder layers. Which would be why you are only seeing 3 "layers".

My psd file is 8.77 MB. I guess maybe it's my version of photoshop? I've run in to this problem a couple of times with other templates. It shows a folder on the layer and some sort of pencil with a slash through it. I could send you a screen shot if I had an email to send it to. Guess I may be out of luck with these unless I get something other than elements.

Yep it sound like maybe you didn't get the "other version" of it. Photoshop Elements can't support files (PSD or TIff) that have layers with folders.

Yup, I'm going with what Elizabeth said. Folders and groups are a nifty feature in PS, but PSE doesn't support it, unfortunately...sometimes templates get made with them because the creator isn't aware of that.

If you really want to use the template, I'd suggest PM'ing Amanda (who created it)...gracielou is her username...and she might still have the non-folder version for you. HTH!

I remember that one. She had made it in PS and didn't realize it wouldn't open that way in PSE or PSP, she had made a different version.

That's good to know, I didn't realize that folders weren't supported in the other programs.
