Anyone Ever Make Their Own Email Newsletter?

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever made their own email Newsletter?

What I am hoping to do is to Create my own email Newsletter for FREE that I can send out periodically to my Family as a way to stay in touch throughout the year....I'd like to be able to announce any new births in the family, upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, upcoming weddings, family reunions, etc....I'm totally clueless as to how to get started really....I want to be able to include pictures also....

you could create a yahoo group and add their addresses. it's simple to send out emails.

or if you have hosting, phplist is free but needs tweaking and is a little more complicated.

Allie, Thanks so much for your reply....Unfortunately I do not have hosting and think that phplist would probably be much too hard for me to figure out....I definitely will look into setting up a Yahoo Group though....

What about a family blog where you could post events, pics, etc. and then email everyone a link? That way everything would be together in one place and you would have it all "archived" too...

you could also check out bigtent, it's a "group" kinda thing, but you can have a calendar and all that stuff too, so it might have some more flexibility than just a yahoo group.

what about creating a scrapbook layout and making it like a newsletter and then just emailing it to everyone?

In hopes to keep my fam in the loop in what is going on, I set up a "blog" through Shutterfly... it's free and I also load up my layouts so they can see ds in progress of growing up... I've been really bad at keeping it up, though... here is mine if you want to see what I'm rambling about...

I think you get it free if you're under 1000, not positive though.

I make the newletter in Dreamweaver using CSS and html and it looks great. You can also do just plain text too.

Thank you all so very much for your replies and links....I will definitely be sure to check each one out....So far, I'm thinking the idea of a blog might be easiest for me to do but I want to check out all of the links you so kindly shared....:thumbup:
