Not a good OB appointment today!!!

So it begins......for my last three pregnancies I have developed PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension). It keeps happening earlier and earlier too!! My first time I was able to make it to almost 40 weeks before they had to induce me with my DD. Both my boys had to come between 37 and 38 weeks.

Well 2 weeks ago my blood pressure was up 135/70.....I normally run about 112/60. So today I was expecting it to be about the same MAYBE a tad higher....well I was wrong.......it was really high........like 160/90

It's concerned my OB enough that I'm on strict orders to lay down as much as possible and to get extra help with the kids (he had said that if I had been working out of the house he would have order me off work!!!). I also have to start non-stress test this week and will continue to have them at least weekly!!! My first one is this Friday @ 5PM.

There is also concern because technically I still have complete placenta previa as I haven't had my second ultrasound to rule that it has infact moved up!!

So can you all just keep me and my bean in your thoughts!!! It's going to be a trying few weeks for me and my crew!!!! :crying:

I'm so sorry Elizabeth! Do you have someone to come in and help? How does one with little ones stay off their feet?

Well, for both of your sakes, I hope you can do it and that everything goes well. Keeping you both in my prayers!!!

((HUGS))

Yes, PIH does tend to begin earlier and earlier in those women who have it :( Mine did, too. Definitely keep down as much as you possibly can, drink TONS of water...yes, tons. You want to keep that body moving fluid out to help with that part of the BP. We'll keep you in our prayers. I remember what that part was like!

relax hun!! you know what happened with me & ce.. listen to the dr, I hope you can get someone to help around the house so you can lay down & rest.

{{hugs}} Elizabeth. Please do what you can to follow doc's orders...I'll be keeping you in my prayers!

(((((Hugs))))) Elizabeth! I'll send up the good vibes for you and the crew. I hope you can get the help you need around the house to take it easy for a while!

ugh sorry Eliz..

I've had to have a bp med for each of my pregnancies...mine is a genetic problem though as I have a crazy time keeping my bp down.

Oh, Pg Buddy, I am so sorry to hear this! I will be praying that #5 stays put for awhile longer & that the crew is able to function with you on bedrest.

I'm so sorry - I'll be thinking of you! Make sure you take care of youself and take it easy - and remember, nobody has ever died from a bit of dirt in the corners..

Take care of youself girly!! You'll have plenty of time to get stuff done when you get all settled in and baby bean is here.

Darcy gave some good advice ;)

Oh my how frightening!!! Lay down as much as possible and drink lots of water and keep off your feet too. Hopefully you can keep this little one in as long as possible. HUGS!

I had PIH with my first pregnancy which began about 22 weeks...I eventually had to be on BP meds 3 x a day and then DS was born (healthy thankfully) at 35 weeks. So I can relate. It's hard to not stress over it I know.

Weirdly though I never had any BP problems with DD. and I couldn't get her to come out lol.

Hang in there!

Sorry to hear this! High BP is such a pain in pregnancy- I've been a victim of it with my 2 pregnancies... the first pregnancy I developed pre-eclampsia- during my emergency c-section at 31 weeks, my BP was 180/110! Can you believe that?! My normal BP is around 110/60!
This past pregnancy my BP slowly went up to the highest at about 140/70, but luckily no pre-eclampsia this time around and I was able to make it full-term this time! Woohoo! I know I made it because I pretty much limited my activity on purpose to try and prevent it, and luckily I work from home and get to run my own shop so the stress level is controllable!

A great thing I always did during this past pregnancy was to take a nap when my then-3-year old took a nap- and then to take a shower after his dad got home to relax. I unfortunately had to restrict my exercising to just walks (slow, short ones) which I'm paying for now by a little more extra pregnancy weight to lose!

Good luck! I hope it goes way wayyy down!

Ugh - I hope you're able to rest! I love being home with my kids but when I was off work last week, it was SO much harder physically than being at work. I honestly had to go back to work to get some rest.

I wish I lived close enough to come and watch your kids while you live it up on the couch. I'd' even bake 5 batches of box mix blueberry muffins with your kids. ;)

Ill be praying for you.

You and your little bean will be in my thoughts Elizabeth {{hugs}}. I developed pre-eclampsia with my first and then had PIH with my second and was induced with both girls. It is scary stuff. Meds helped control it for alittle while with my second DD...but only for alittle while. I hope you are able to relax as much as possible.

Oh, I hope you guys are ok and that you can keep that little one 'cooking' for a couple more weeks longer. I know it is tough to rest and keep off your feet when you have other little ones to take care of. I hope that the PP has migrated and that it isn't an issue anymore too.
