I am kinda bored today so I was surfing the web and found this website that plays sounds that as you age you can no longer hear. They call them mosquito ringtones and the teens use them so that teachers do not know they are getting messages in school. Well if you got a few seconds you could try it out and see where your hearing is LOL.

That's crazy!
I couldn't hear them from 15.8 down (but when I turned my speaker up more I could hear it. I'll test later when my kids are asleep so I don't hurt their ears!)

That is kind of crazy! Who thinks of these things anyway???

The highest pitch I could hear was 16.7.

my husband can only hear the first two. Granted he worked in a auto body shop so his hearing is probably pretty bad from being around those air tools all day for years and years.

it was actually made to get teenagers away from loitering around the mall. I think someone in England made it

It doesn't say how high you should put your speaker volume. Should I assume we should put it up to 100%?

I just left it where it was and had my speakers up about half way. I dont think turning it up really makes much of a difference. It has something to do with the ability to hear that frequency. I am at B which is like 15.8 I think?

I could hear 16.7 but when I was playing the higher pitches my son age 7 asked me to stop doing that. He said it reminds him of what his ear do after a loud fire cracker. I couldn't even hear them. He said he could hear them at the top of the stairs.

LOL I should have put a warning that they do kinda hurt your ears. Kinda reminds me of nails on a chalkboard

OHhh, I have soooo been wanting to try this! O.k, I was 14.1, BUT I could hear the other ones really softly. How weird is that? I had my youngest try the last one first and try to convince there was a sound there. She thought I was nuts!!LOL. Then we let her read it ... LOL!! Thanks for posting this!

DH Could hear all but the 17.7. I couldn't hear anything past the 14.1 =\

*ETA - Okay when I turned up my speaker I could hear the 15.8 and DH could hear all of them. And he was grasping his ears. lol
