Anyone have the new Canon T1 (have we talked about this already?)

I'm interested in seeing some clips of the video that this baby shoots. I know it's not a replacement for an actual video cam, but I'm thinking about selling my Nikon and switching to the Canon.

I miss the video capability of my point n shoot for those times when I want to get some quick shots of video.

I've done some searching online about the video, but it's so hard to tell how much of it has been edited/enhanced...

Anyway... I'd love to hear some reviews on the t1, and if anyone would like to share some video clips (you can PM me if you want, or email me: [email protected]), I'd luuuuurve you forevah!

:wub:I HAVE IT:thumbup: and I just got home form deployment, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it!!! You can shot by looking through the viewfinder or by putting it on the big screen {live mode}...and you can also shoot in B&W which I wasn't able to do with my Rebel...DH's favorite feature is the CA mode {which is modified automatic} which you can change alot of the shooting features without having to change the apeture or shutter speed...
I also spent the extra money and bought another lens {55-250mm} and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it too...I already had the 70-300mm but I like the 55-250 much better!

here are a few pics I took at my BIL's wedding a couple week's ago...

DH doesn't like the fact that the screen gets dirty because you always have your face up against it if you are shooting using the viewfinder and not the screen {this doesn't bother me}.... you can also set it up to auto shut of at like 2/4/8/15 mins...I used the 15 mins for hte wedding and it was PERFECT!!! I took almost 600 pics and then the battery finally died, but overall the better life is GREAT!

I LOVE how crisp the photos are, even the everyday pics :)

so if you can't tell, I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE
I have not actually tried the video yet, but I am getting there :)

I'm not familiar with the T1 but is there a reason you are not going with the Nikon D90? It shoots video, has the liveview mode etc as well and if you already have lenses....would work with those. Just curious?

We have taken several short videos with ours but I don't have them here with me right now unfortunately. But is very handy and a feature I definitely would miss now if I didn't have!

I just bought one last weekend. But it's my first DSLR so I'm not sure if I can be a lot of help. DH wanted it because it shoots HD quality videos and I did use that on my point 'n shoot. But the one time that I wanted to shoot video, I realized that I didn't read the directions and it wasn't working the way I thought. I read the directions so now I'm ready to shoot next time. It will also take still shots while you are filming. (according to the instructions I read!)

I love the pictures it takes! I'm still learning so I'm only using auto mode. I have experimented a bit and I really do love the creative mode.

Oh I just saw this thread - I got this camera for my dh last month and he is still experimenting with the settings and things. I am loving how sharp the photos are coming out....we go to Disneyland this weekend and he plans on putting it to the test so I will let you know. I am happy with it because now I have my own dslr too since uh yeah he gave me his other canon lol!

If you already have a Nikon and are familiar with it, and the only reason you want to jump to Canon is the video, then you might want to check out the Nikon D90. The recently released D5000 also has video capabilities (but the D3000 does not have video).

Just a thought.
