THE movie director of the 80spassed away today. As a teen, I loved his films, and they have held up (IMO anyway). He will be missed.

:( I was actually surprised that I was a bit taken aback by that one. You know how you always hear of celebrities who die, and you're sorry for them and for their families, but every once in awhile one dies and it effects you just a bit more than the others.

so sad :( his movies are still my all time favs... i remember making my little brother watch all those movies...i told him he NEEDED to know CLASSIC 80s movies! ahhahah)

I did know who he was and had to google (although I did know and have seen almost all his movies he wrote) but how sad....he was only 59!!!!

I just read about this. I am super sad because he directed almost all my favorite 80s movies.

I think we should all watch Sixteen Candles or Pretty in Pink tonight. Together. =D

Only because I'm watching Breakfast Club right now.

oh no - i hadn't heard this :( so sad ... like most of you, i loooooooove his movies and have so many memories of them from the 80's ...

Very sad. That man shaped my adolescence. I wish I had Breakfast Club on DVD, I'd pull it out and make the kids watch it with me tomorrow. Wonder if they have it at Redbox?
