4 years ago today...

we were hunkered down waiting on Hurricane Katrina. I always grew up listening to my mother and grandmother remembering Camille and now I know why they always talked about it. Katrina is something I'll never forget especially since it was the year DS was born..he was only 4 mos old..we were without power for 6 days..I sure hope we never have one like that again.

yep I remember all the hurricanes we went through (none were as bad as Katrina though!!) I can totally empathise about the power thing too. That sucks!!! My kids were going nuts and we did not have water like people who lived in town since we have a well. We had to go to the store or somewhere that had water and fill up gallon jugs to come home and take a shower with ice cold water. It was not fun at all. And we lost power three times in 2004 and each time lost every bit of food in the fridge/freezer. It got to the point where I just bought a little food each time we went to the store so we would not lose so much. Then last year when Faye hit even though it was just a tropical storm it dropped so much rain our yard was flooded for awhile as were many roads in the area. Here's hoping this year brings a relatively mild hurricane season!!

I definitely agree...a nice, quiet hurricane season would be nice. My mom still has one wall of her condo covered with plastic inside and out from Hurricane Ike...I wish that her homeowners association would get on the ball and get it fixed before another big storm hits.

Wow... four years already? Being from "up nort" I can't begin to imagine what you went through... but I do pray that we never have a repeat!
