Long time, no chat and a printing confession :)

Hi Ladies!

I haven't been around much, in part because I had to make the sad decision to step down from my two wonderful CT's here and needed a bit of a break so it wouldn't kill me every time I saw their new releases (and others) that I was taking a scrapping break. (I had to step down from CT's b/c of getting overwhelmed and starting to homeschool my now kindergartner...)

Anyway, I have a true confession, and I am just overwhelmed by the task I'm setting for myself and need some encouragement. I am one of these people who NEVER prints stuff. I was just keeping my head above water with my scrapping, and never figured out how to efficiently scrap, upload to galleries AND print my stuff!

I have hundreds of lovely pages going back 3-4 years that I would like to work on printing during my scrapping break. But I'm overwhelmed. I plan to print them at Costco and once upon a time had an action for that but lost it... had an action to print it through My Pic Tales but never figured that out. At this point, I'm thinking I'll just flatten and upload to Costco so maybe I should dig that action up again (Annie Manning's unless someone knows of another one.)

Should I start with the oldest and go forward, or do year by year? Or most recent and go backwards? I would like to do 12x12s since that is what I really created them to be. Any tips or encouragement?

Oh- and I am trying to take a bit of a scrapping hiatus this fall and use the time I would have spent scrapping getting stuff printed! So I need to figure this out- really trying hard to not fall into old habits and start scrapping again without printing out a decent number of layouts...

Thanks y'all! :)

Individually, so I can frame some for display... I'd like to have a scrapbook wall where I have a grouping of pages and then I can stick them in an album (I have a CM one that can accommodate them) when I want to change them.

I think the Costco route is the way to go if you have pages all ready to print and you don't want to make photobooks.

If it were me and I had a backlog to print, I would print like this year or something to get you current. I know that it would make me feel good emotionally to see that and even motivate me to scrap more. Then, I would take them in batches to print, working back from the present.

Good luck. I know how life can get overwhelming for stretches of time. You have such wonderful LOs! Print them, it will uplift you to see them IRL.

I think WendyZines or something had an action for Costco? They also print in 12x18 and I think she had an action where you can print 12x12 and then 2-6x6s on one page. Can't remember what store she is at. I almost exclusively shop here.

Oh! Thanks for the reminder! WendyZines did have one for Costco... I might own that too, I'm terrible about installing actions.

And thanks for the encouragement too. :) I thought about this the other day when I was looking at one of the few LO's that I have printed out (and stuck on the back of my homeschool binder) and just how cool it looked. It'd be a huge thrill to see them all printed and I know my girls would love it...

Why do you need an action? Can't you just flatten them and save them to a disk?

I have missed your inspiration! I hope home schooling is going well. :)

Well, yeah I can flatten them, and probably that is what I will do. I am thinking of doing the 12 x 18 with two 6x6's (that is same price as 12x12s).

So I guess I will do that, and start with this past year. :)

HI Elizabeth! Just waving hello - hope school is going well, don't fret too much aobut kindergarten, you can't really go wrong there! ;)

If you have a huge backlog of stuff to print I'd set aside some scrapping money each month for printing and just chip away at it until you are caught up.

I don't do photo books - there's no way I could let my boys look through them without page protectors. :) What kind of albums are you using to put your layouts in?

I say good for you for doing this :) I am not sure I have any good suggestions since I don't scrap chronologically~ but I agree with the other gals about starting with your most recent LO's and work your way back :) I have only printed some and had them printed in a book at Inkubook and really like how it came out...but I am liking the idea of printing 12x12 pages and intertwining them throughout my paper CM albums....

gl with homeschooling :)

If you can get some uploaded today I would take advantage of the sale @ http://www.scrappingsimply.com/ It ends today though..but you can buy the discounted print credits and upload/print later

Oh wow, that site looks great! The prices are good even without a sale. :)

I'm really not stressed about kindergarten... other than my dd is learning to read (she is ready) and my youngest dd gave up her nap (there goes my scrapping time lol) and we are involved in probably too many activities, lol. But very excited to be homeschooling now! :) (And hi Emmy! :))

I don't scrap chronologically either... but obviously my most recent pages are my best pages, and I've re-scrapped some older photos, so it makes sense to do most recent first and then go back. I realized this will probably take me a while though, I should maybe set a goal to print 8-10 LOs/month and go from there, to see if I can get more done than that. And restrain myself from too many "fixes" lol.
