Speaking of Printing Layouts

When I finish a layout, I upload it to Scrapping Simply. That way when I am ready to print, I know which layouts need to be printed and I don't have to spend hours uploading at hte last minute.

You should all do this too. :)

That is a good idea, Kellie!! I have a 2 Print folder that has a folder in that is already uploaded and already printed and I just move them around as I get them uploaded and printed. But, when I am uploading to all the galleries, it might be just as simple to go ahead and upload there too!

Good idea! :)

I have a "LO's to Print" folder that I save in as soon as I finish the LO. I save the psd (or tiff), save for web, and then save as jpeg in my "to print" folder. Then I batch upload from that folder when I'm ready to print. Works pretty well fo rme.

That's a great idea, Kellie. You guys made me spend like 4 hours this morning getting all my layouts organized by which need to get printed (or reprinted from MPT...grrr) :) I ordered like 45 prints from Scrapping Simply and I'm waiting to see the quality before I order more. I'm excited to see them!

'Splain more? Does Scrapping Simply have a gallery, or you can just upload and let them hang out there for a while?

When did you switch? Didn't you use scrapbook pictures? How is the quality and price compared to scrapbook pictures?

oh, btw I have the same system. Works much better that way on printing days.

Yes, I did use SP, but SS is SO much cheaper. I tried them out with their last sale and was so pleased with the results that I use them now.

My Gallery

Check out my gallery there to see how it works, Elizabeth. I think you can have up to 10 albums at one time.

I've been scrapping for over 2 years now, and I have not printed a single layout. And now I'm super intimidated to try and do it all once during a sale.

I need this system.

Of course, that means I actually have to SCRAP, but whatever. :p

SHAME ON YOU. Just start uploading 5-10 layouts each day. Dont worry about the sale. If you print 8x8, it's still only a dollar a page. You don't have to adjust your edges or anything. Don't sit and try to upload them all at once, just do a few a day until they are all done.

You will totally love it once you hold your pages in your hand.

And update your blog.

kellie - do you print 8x8?

The fact that I didn't have to do anything at SS to print my pages was a huge plus for me. In the past I've always been really deterred by the add a smidge around the edge thing because it's so daunting. I've been printing at home the last few years but wanting to start printing out because it is just getting to be too much. I hope my pages come out ok! If I'm missing all kinds of stuff at the edges I'm going to freak lol. :p

I know I know. My problem is that I have 2 shutterfly books that expire in January (like 2 years ago you could buy codes at Target and they were on clearance, all I have to pay for is shipping) and I can't figure out what I want to put in them. I'll probably just dump 20 lo's in each book and call it done, but I keep thinking I'll get inspired to do something else. I should just suck it up and get them printed. Maybe I'll do that this weekend since we're home for once, and it's a long weekend with not much planned....

I'm probably getting rid of that blog. I set up a wordpress one through the wedding website. Not that I've updated it since I set it up, but whatever. I plan on doing either a 365 project or a project 52 for our first year of marriage and documenting it there. We'll see how that works out for me, lol.

That's what I did with my coupon codes that were about to expire. Mine were for the 8.5x11 books, so I put 8x8 layouts on them (I think I used an action by wendyzine) and filled a couple books. I have a few more that I have to do now too! It's kind of fun having them to look at.

I'm uploading all of my layouts right now to Scrapping Simply (well, the ones that I haven't already had printed). I've got about 40 uploading right now, and I have a TON more to get ready to upload. Once you have them all listed in there, just click "upload" and you can walk away and let it do it's thing!

I've done that with Shutterfly a few times. I set it up before bed and then when Jordan is done playing video games (usually connected to the net) I have him hit upload so it works overnight.

My mission tonight will be to upload my 5 latest layouts. That'll get me motivated, right? LOL!

Col, I totally have one of those target things on my acct too... but mine came with free shipping! I had 2 and used one... I don't know when to use the other, but yeah, I bought it almost 2 years ago... i wonder how many of us did that!

Hmmm...I wonder if mine has free shipping too.....
It's been so long I truly don't remember, lol!

I am helping you be a better person. My work here is done.

I think a project 52 for your first year of marriage sounds like SUCH a good idea!

LOL! Love it Kellie :)

Yea, I'm pretty excited about it. I was inspired by Peppermint's Project 52 with her 52 things she loves about her husband. I figure it'll be a cool way to document the first year of our marriage, and it'll be fun to look back on with our kids and stuff :)

I figure I'll be taking SO many photos on the honeymoon, that I'll do a photo a day book for that whole month. With the week leading up to the wedding, and then the wedding and honeymoon, I'm really excited for that one :)

PS~Uploading 5 layouts to Shutterfly, Scrapbook Pictures, and Scrapping Simply now :)

I think it was mentioned a while back because she was the TOTM. So it was mentioned in her interview/article thingy. But if you go to her gallery you'll see a bunch of LO's with the title "Reason #XX".

I should warn you guys that I have only completed 19 pages total, and I think only posted 12. Haha. I kept a running list of my reasons and even have several pages half done but I haven't scrapped them yet.

So hopefully any of you who try a Project 52 will be way more consistent than me. He knows I love him, he said he'd wait for the rest of my reasons. ;) And people were so interested in the pages that I started worrying that someone might try to steal Tom for being so great! LOL

*waves* Hi Peppermint! Thanks for stopping in! :)

I think scrapping ANY reasons at all is a great thing. Knowing my track record with sticking with projects (2 failed 365's, a failed December Daily, etc etc) I'm not too sure I'll make it happen. But, I'm gonna try, and that's all that matters to me :)

Well, seeing those 12 you posted (or however many) was good enough inspiration for me! I made a list for my hubby of 100 reasons I love him (for his bday a couple years ago), but scrapping them would have been so much cuter!!!! I love the idea! :)
