Snack Day @ School

Anyone have easy, nutritious snacks for snack day?

J's has the snack for the day on Thursday and I'm at a loss. I am not opposed to making something fun and tasty, I just don't know WHAT! And of course, she is no help at all. She doesn't know what sounds good to her (yes, those are her words! oye!)

TIA!

Oatmeal raisin cookies are a good one. The kids think they are getting "cookies" when they are getting whole grain and fruit. ;)

My sister is a kindergarten teacher and these are the snacks that she reccommends parents bring in...

String cheese and apple slices
Wheat Thins and Cheese cubes
Real-Fruit fruit chews
Dried fruit mix (apples, bananas, crasins, raisins, etc.)
Crunchy granola bars (the chewy ones are full of sugar)

Hope that helps!!

Ditto Jenny....snack mixes were always big for my DD's classes too!!! Store bought or homemade (think chex mix or what ever goodies you have on hand: fish, raisins, cheerios, M&M's ect......!!!)

so glad this thread was started... I have a hard time coming up with good (and preferably nutritious) snacks for my toddler. One of my DD's favorite snacks is pretzel fish and craisins mixed; you get a little salt and a little sweet at the same time.

thanks!

We do..

Snack mixes
Fruit kabobs
Cheese & crackers
Apples slices
Jello jigglers
Goldfish crackers
Yogurt cups with teddy grahams
Rice cakes with blue cream cheese with gold fish crackers on top (fishies in a pond)
Ants on a log or polar bear picnics (celery with cream cheese or pb with raisins or marshmallows on top)
Ham & Cheese Kabobs (we use little pretzel sticks as our kabob stick)
Pinwheels (tortillas rolled up with lunch meat and cheese and cut into 1 inch slices)

If it is hot, sometimes, we freeze the go-gurts. The kids all love them. For K or preschool, we but them in half.
