you're like stars
but could you all keep me & my car (lol) in your thoughts. tomorrow is the day I find out what's going on.. I'm just sick with worry. I keep imagining the mechanic calling and telling me my tranny is shot.. my dad said he'd help out with the cost, but I don't see him being willing to help out THAT much. A year ago.. I would have said ok, we'll be without a car for a while, but I CAN'T be without one now because of ce being in school (and it being well past walking distance). I don't know what I am going to do if it's something horrid :[ Would really really be nice to catch a freakin break over here finally. Thanks guys!

Oh I hope it is something little La....does your Dad know anything about mechanics so you can make sure the place isn't ripping you off?

yes :] my dad has fixed my car a few times, but he was at a loss with this one.. my dad has been going to this place since I was a baby, so he's got my back if they try to dink me around fer sure.

thanks girlies!

just out of curiosity what was your car doing?

well.... lol.. it stalled out in the middle of the road, and then I couldn't get it to re-start (it woudln't turn over, def have power just plllb.. if I pumped the gas while it was trying I could get it to kick over, but then it'd stall out immediately- and yes, LOL I know I shouldn't do that cause it's fuel injected but this was related to my previous start up issues and this was how we rectified it). it's always been a shitty start, I've been having problems with it for a while- my dad initially thought that because my batt. connectors are crap (one is actually original, and my car is a 94) that I was having power issues to the fuel injector- we've tightened it like 5 times recently, so it def is a problem.. he thought it was that simple as I got the car to start up presto easy after he fixed that.. however.. I started pulling out and I felt it going again (while pressing the gas, not the break) I instinctively tried to rev it up and it died, not 10 ft from where it died the first time ^_^ .. then we tried several times to get it started again and we couldn't get it to kick. The fact that it died while the gas was pressed 2 times (and not like stalling out when it was idling) has me a wee bit worried :p but we'll see..... It could be a zillion things but I'm of course just focused on the tranny ^_^ I had noticed I was having sluggish shifting (it's an automatic) a few weeks back and I mentioned it to my dad.. but that was when my alternator died so we just ignored it I guess.. not a good idea.

I had my husband read what you wrote and he said the first thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump. Our car did that same exact thing when the fuel pump went out (and we have had it go out three times now LOL). He said to him your description does not sound like it is the transmission but he would have to see it to know. Good luck with whatever it is. I really hope it isnt the transmission because aside from the motor it is the most costly thing on a car to replace/repair

thanks for having him read it :] I did a lot of googling (lol) the other night.. and a lot of the less scary possibilities involved the fuel pump.. or a leak in a line somewhere.. etc etc so I hope he is right lol. I'm just.. with the way things have been going lately I'm expecting the worst LOL.. it IS an old car, with nearly 200k on it.. it's not supposed to last forever, but I need it to for a while longer :p

I thought fuel pump too after reading your description. I had that happen to my car in h.s. and it was a lot like that. Like it should be going but it just wouldn't go. LOL

Hope they get it figured out and it's an easy (read: cheap) fix! :)
