my dh is quite possibly the most difficult person

to agree on baby names with - that ever lived. The spectrum of what he is "ok" with is narrow, NARROW I tell you! Normally he's a quite reasonable person but honestly I'm starting to think he is bizarre! He doesn't like *anything* he deems "trendy" or "made up" so only very traditional names will do. And then even among those he's particular......my goodness I thought it would be a piece of cake to agree on 2 girl names after 4 boys but it's turning out to be pretty darn difficult! :glare:

lol everything is trendy.. it's gay. I still maintain it's the best name :p I need to get a female pet so I can name it that.. I'm surrounded by testosterone here.. boo.
/hijack over LOL

I like Molly :) and Abigail :)

no seriously my DH is the same way and he actually eneded up naming all 4 of them...after Abby was born I said " I GET TO NAME HER", very adminatly {because I had her NATURAL {not by choice either} and I said PAYTON!

well, everyone leaves and he is sitting over in the chair with her and says "Angie, she doesn't look like a Payton she LOOKS like and Abigail"..so guess what!! Her name is Abigail Louisa, Abby Lou for short and it is fitting!

so when the last one was born there was no question what his/her name was gonna be:p and Peyton it was...

but the only name we really agreed on was the first one, boy or girl, it was Sam....

lol poor angie.. ^_^

I think it's kinda normal for men to be kaka heads about names anyway.. kiddos dad and I never agreed on a name.. his only suggestions were to call him a Jr (thank god I didn't agree to that haha) and Luke.... so he could say "luke I am your father"...... I also passed on that one :p

boys r weird.

audrey. audrey is the best girl name ever. you shall suggest this name :p

I only have one to offer you haha...

IF we were to ever have another little girl (BIG IF) then her name is going to be Audrey :)

GL deciding names...I know how hard that can be!

Molly Abigail was on the list of naming my youngest daughter. She ended up being Molly Marie! I love the name Abigail.

OMG..this is TOTALLY something Matt would do....for the longest time him and DD {of coarse she was a teenager when the 2 little ones came along} want to name them Ichabod!!! and call him/her Iccie for short:p I tell you, my kids were LUCKY to get normal names!!!!!!:p

I'm kinda traditional w/ names too. I don't like anything too trendy, too baby, too adult, too many L's (alliteration - our last name is Littleton), etc. Our kids names are Wesley (Wes), Claire, and Sadie. Sadie and Claire are getting a little more popular/trendy, but they are still classic names. And I think we used them b4 they started getting trendy again.

So, what are you suggestions and what are his?

I was just running down a list of names and waiting for him to say yay or nay on each....I say "mia" and he's all - what kind of name is that? No one uses the name Mia, that sounds made up". Dude! IT's #14 in popularity last year.......Oy!

I don't even want Mia (though I find it a pretty name), I just find it ridiculous how few names he likes.

Our boys are Alexander, Henry, Jack, and Samuel. Right now we are leaning towards Hazel & Grace. I also like Madeline & Isabelle but he doesn't so much....

I do like Grace...I've got a Madelyn Grace and an Emma Rose. Drives me crazy that Emma got as popular as it did.

Another name I really like is Sofia...but that's waaaay popular around here.

Our boys are Alexander, Henry, Jack, and Samuel. ....

Oh, my Lord, those names are so fab, you have to come up with good girl names. I love them all. My son came thisclose to being Samuel. He is Nicholas though. Here's my very small girls list in case it helps you.

Annabel/Annabelle
Evie/Evy with the full name Evangeline, Eve, Eva or Genevieve
Tessa
Scarlett

Possible middle names Violet, Eleanor, Elsa, Iris or Carolyn/Caroline

My nephew is Nicholas. My nephew due in 2 weeks is going to be Samuel. lol
And, I LOVE Tessa! :)

I see Naomi (mn Alexis) getting popular and I don't like it. After Naomi was born, there were 3 Naomis on TV within a few years...that always makes things skyrocket.

Parker (mn Samuel) is popular around HERE...for the same reason I chose it. It's a popular last name in this part of the country, so people use it for that reason...and then others hear it and like it, etc. Neither are extremely popular though.

GL finding names you can agree on! My husbands never had much of a say. LOL.

Yes...it's a lot of pressure. Of our 4 boys the one we like the most is Henry, because it's the least popular and feels a bit more unique while still being traditional. So that's where we are coming from. It's just harder to find "older" girl names that don't sound old lady. I have seriously considered Millie, Ruby (dh wanted to name them Max & Ruby if they were girl/boy twins - weirdo), and such. Last time I left naming Sam too long and ended up deciding in the delivery room - I don't want to do that this time.

omgosh, I am ROLLING.

we're not even preggo & have names picked out already! lol

We had Jack's full name picked out since before we were even married. :)

I LOVE the names Madeline & Isabelle, Emmy! We are planning on adopting a little girl and naming her Ariana, but she will be Filipina {if things go as planned} and will totally be able to pull it off. If I had a little white baby girl, she would have been Katherine Mary {Katie}, after Joels grandmother & mother.

ANd I think it is just WRONG that we spend our childhoods picking out our children's names, and then these men, who have never in their entire lives thought about what they might name their children, think they should have a right in naming the kids.

I am another one that LOVES Madeline and Grace :)

what about Odel? I had a Aunt with that name and I have a cousing named Alison Odel...kinda flows....

and Elizabeth is old and classy :)

DH suggests: :)
Molly
Fiona
Ruby

Ella and Claire...DD's name. :) We never really considered anything else...now boy names?!? Don't get me started...we're just thankful for a girl this go around because we couldn't agree on anything!

Why does he think he has a say in it? :p I really wanted Ava to be named Emily, but it is so popular. Of course now I see that Ava is super popular. *sigh* Growing up with like 3 other Jennifers in my classes in school has made me try an stay away from popular.

My husband actually came up will with Lilith's name, but we rarely call her by her full name, she gets called Lilly, Lils, Li-la, and Lil-ster.

girl names I love: Emily, Addison, Ruby, and Charlotte.

No my DH was the worst! Not only did we have to have unique names but they couldn't rhyme or be easily made fun of, he had all these rules for middle names and initials....and we were always surprised as far as gender goes....I thought it would be the fun part but it wasn't LOL

I was going to suggest Alexis Grace or Madelyn Grace but read some of the comments before suggesting them LOL

We have a Benjamin, Amelia and Rachael. They are not trendy, but a bit old fashioned, especially with us spelling Rachael with the "a" in it.

Tony and I decided pretty easily. I wanted Daniel (named after Dan Marino, I'm a Dolphins fan, have been my whole life) but DH is a Pats fan, and vetoed it. So he wanted to name our kid Tom (middle name Brady) but I absolutely refused. LOL

I told my DH after we got married that our first baby, if it was a boy, was going to be named Ian Thomas...NO GO!! His name is Dylan Sean. Second time around I tried for Ian again....NO GO!! His name is Jarrett Robert. Third time around we found out we were having twins and decided each of us would name one of them. We had middle names already picked out..Richard (after my FIL) and Thomas (after my G'Pa)...Guess what Ian did not happen again!!!! Their names are Tyler Richard and Matthew Thomas. Mind you I gave birth to the first two with NO DRUGS so I thought I would get my way at least with the second one but apparently he has some wierd aversion to the name Ian......whatev.

Sorry for the ramble.....

Each time I was preggers Elizabeth was the first name on my list the second was Grace. Have fun and good luck

LMAO!!

I love the names Peyton and Eli, but Ross says that no child of his will be named after the Manning brothers.

We had a really hard time with our son's name, but our daughter was easy -- her name is Juliana which is a very old, traditional name, but still very pretty and girly. And I love the nickname Julie which is so "all-american" girl.

We agreed on my oldest daughter quickly Carrie Anne. I love that name even if her name is Carrie Anne Moss like the actress from the Matrix. We had fits with Molly's name. My DH really wanted her to be named Molly Catherine or put Catherine in there somewhere, which is my middle name and I am not having a daughter named Kate Moss! I like Elizabeth because it is my name. My mom's name is Jeannette which I like because it is unusual. Other girl names:

Violet
Meredith
Alice

We found out today we're having a boy so our girl name went to the way side..we've spent ALLL night talking about boy names...We were going to name a little girl Miriam Ruby (Miri) for short :) That was the name we BOTH loved....Good luck on naming ur sweet little ones!

My SO is the same, he doesn't like anything either. Our oldest DD was nameless for 3 months because we couldn't agree:) Middle names was easy, SO is scottish and his family are from the islands so we picked one of the island names for each, but first names? Not so much. My favourite is Nora, but SO doesn't like it, so we didn't use it.
