Tingling hands?

The last week or so my right hand has been sore while I am on the computer. Last night while I was scrapping my hand started to tingle so I finshed up and went to bed. My hand is STILL tingling this morning and it did wake me up a few times last night. Has this happened to any of you? Any suggestions?
I sure one suggestion would be to cut back on my computer time.

I think that means your hand is about to fall off.

Ok, kidding. This happened to me once, then wore off on it's own and my guess is it was a back issue.

I had that during the end of both of my pregnancies and it lasted until about 3 month post postpartum. My doctor said it was fairly common but I don't remember the rationale, something to do with pressure on a certain nerve I think. I don't know that it helps if you are not pregnant, but I thought I'd mention it.

Is it the whole hand or just part? Not that I can diagnose, I'm just curious. My left hand started tingling a while after D was born. Then it would contract into this weirdly arthritic looking claw all of it's own doing. Initially we assumed carpal tunnel, but it turned out that my 'funny bone' or ulnar nerve had kinked like a hose does. I had to have surgery to fix it. I doubt that's what's going on for you, but having a tingling hand checked out can't hurt.

It feels like my whole hand.

This happens to me from time to time in my mousin' hand... apparently I pinch some nerves on the edge of the desk without even knowing Sometimes it's the whole hand, sometimes just half... it's whacky. Heat helps.

I had it with both pregnancies too. Both my hands would tingle like crazy..would even wake me up sometimes. Then it just went away.

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but I'd strongly encourage you to take some time away from the computer. My husband had the same problem several years ago (he works in IT) and didn't take it seriously, and now it's progressed to the point where he has had to stop working full-time and has had chronic pain for about 4 years. He's been to orthopedists and hand therapists but the only solution is for him to stop doing what's causing the pain, i.e., stop using a computer. I can't tell you the stress that this has put on our family - I've had to return to work full-time, it's affected his personality, our marriage, etc.

More than likely it won't come to the same for you, but take it seriously and rest your body when it gives you signals like that ...
