while I VENT!

So my inlaws are coming today..on their way right now..so far I have gotten up with the kids, made them breakfast and cleaned the kitchen, baked/iced a cake and cleaned the kitchen again, cleaned the entire house, prepped the steaks and salad for supper tonight, argued with DS about taking a bath for 30 minutes, washed a load of clothes and dishes and you know what DH has done?? Slept in til 10 am and is now laying in the bed watching TV. GRRRR!!!!! I mean...get up! They're YOUR parents!! :cursing:

thanks.

I would give him a slap. Tony would never get away with that crap, and he knows it. I would just go in and say "Avery needs a bath. You can do that. Thanks."

Ahoy!, that not be happenin' on me ship. Dave has a list o' things t' do on days like this. I still end up doin' most o' th' work, but he would definitely be helpin'. Arrgh...

Well, ordinarily I would have let him have it by now, but his parents will be here any time now and I don't want a huge argument looming over us when they walk in the door kwim? And there will be a huge argument :)

My DH would do the same thing. As I pack and get ready to go somewhere, he just sits on the couch and watches TV. Then complains if I forget something.

He's been in the States for a week now and has 1 more week to go and I can't say I miss him a whole lot at this point...is that bad? :D

Sounds like mine as well:) I prefer it though, he just gets in the way.. Although he is awesome at cleaning the bathroom, I hate doing that. When we have people coming over I usually make him do that, and then take the kids out so they are out of the way, but if he had his way he'd probably just hide in his cave (my name for the office/games room) all day with a game..

Honestly I think their brains are like computers. Very capable but only within the limits of their programming. If you don't tell them, it never occurs to them. Some men will walk through a dirty kitchen for days before the lack of clean bowls makes them notice the huge smelly pile of dirty dishes on the counter because they have not been told to wash the dishes. Others will ignore a mountain of dirty clothes in the corner for weeks because doing laundry is not in their programming & if they are not told specifically to do something they don't think to do it.

Mine sits around while I make vacation plans, arrange dog care, flights, car rental, hotel reservations, pack clothing, etc and then when it is all loaded but one bag in the car picks that bag up and say "So are you ready to leave now?" as if I have been holding him up all this time.

I think laundrey is missing from my programming too;) You should see the state of my laundrey room..

I think this is so true and it's advice my mom is constantly giving me..she says she stayed mad at my Daddy for 20 years b/c he'd just sit in his chair and do nothing with 4 kids running around and her working full time too...but then one day she started just telling him what she wanted him to do and he just started getting up and doing it. Now he even does the dishes lol...I guess I need to stop seething over it and just tell him to get up and do it lol.

He made up for it though..last night he ordered me a new computer!!!! So I couldn't really ball him out after that lol

I'm SOO excited about it!! Here are the specs...

Hard Drive 500GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache

I'm going to be stalking the poor UPS man lol :)

There's no way that would fly at my house. I'm pretty sure my DH knows better than to pull something like that and even if he did, you can bet I'd be in there bugging him. :D

Yay for the new computer though!
