PSA: BACK UP!!

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
Just wanted to give a friendly PSA to everyone. There was a HUGE water main break in our area (we weren't affected) and a LOT of people lost a LOT of sentimental possessions, like photos. If you've got old photos laying around that you'd be upset if they were lost, GET THEM SCANNED and backed up!! A water main break could hit anyone anywhere. Go. Back. Up.

PSA? Personal Service Announcement...Public Service Announcement...or other? I get the idea.

We had one time where the "city" decided the house needed a sump pump...they installed it and rerouted the water out from under the house and right into the back door into the basement! :cursing:

I found a few photos "floating" in the room! Acck! So that room always has things picked up (or so I think) in there...it was the scrapbook room in the basement.

Needless to say...*WE* rerouted the water without their permission...too bad so sad...but didn't want that happening everytime we got a lot of rain!

Public Service Announcement.

Yea, there are hundreds (possibly thousands) of people with flooded basements and such. And I know GA has been getting an absurd amount of rain lately too. So yea, you never know. Just get things scanned and back up!!

Those who need a scanning service, I highly recomment scanmyphotos.com. I big puffy heart them, they have done an incredible job for me and I HIGHLY recommend them. I'm actually taking a box home with me this weekend to have my mom fill with more pics from my childhood to get scanned.

Thanks for the reminder and recommendation Col. I've been meaning to try them out for scanning, since they're only an hour away in Irvine and I can actually physically hand them a box and then go shopping at the Irvine Spectrum while I wait for them to scan. I will definitely be doing that. But first I have to organize my photos.

Everything I own, that I keep in my basement, is in those plastic Rubbermaid containers. Cardboard boxes just won't cut it, we lost a lot of stuff during a basement flood last fall.

I really love them Christine. They do fantastic work and they are FAST too! And I've never lost single photo. I've sent out 1 box of my own photos, and one box that Jordan's mom gave me. This next box will be a combo of Jordan's mom and my mom's. I did the buy 2 get 1 free thing cuz I GROSSLY over estimated the number of photos Jordan's mom gave me, lol. But such is life. I'll get my money's worth :p
