about everything :p:p

My new computer is on it's way. Is there ANY way in firefox to save my bookmarks and then import them somehow to the new computer? I am NOT looking forward to having to copy paste them all from my lappy kwim? Or is there any way to do it that's not going to take forever?

There is, there is! Unfortunately, I can't tell you how. FF actually crashed on my laptop about two months ago and refuses to open now. I uninstalled it. :(

Yup there is! I did it from my PC to my laptop. I saved my bookmarks from IE and imported them into Firefox.

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
2. Click Bookmarks and then Organize Bookmarks.
3. Click Export HTML or Click Import and Backup and then Backup. We suggest Exporting to HTML since all browsers support the ability to easily read these files.
4. Type the filename you wish to save the file as and the destination and then click the Save button.

This is exactly what I did. I put the file on a jump drive, and moved it over when I wanted it on my laptop.

HTH you!

Under Bookmarks>Organize Bookmarks, there should be an option to export them. Then you would just import that file on your new computer.

I believe to save them it would just be bookmarks>organize bookmarks>import and backup>back up. and to put them on the new computer you'd have to bring that backup over to the new laptop and do the same thing except select import.

LOL... took too long to type it up!

There's also a free program you can download called MozBackup that will backup & transfer your Firefox & Thunderbird profiles including all your bookmarks :)

Yeah, MozBackup. Saved all my emails, all my password, everything. It was wonderful -- brand new laptop that had all my emails in the right folders (going back to 2004) and all my favorite sites, log-ins, paswords, etc. I love it!

Are you talking about transferring them to another platform that isn't firefox? Because, if you're going to install FF on the new computer, there's no need. They'll show up when you install it. At least, it's always worked for me :)

I love Xmarks . It's an add-on for Firefox, IE and Safari. It synchronizes your bookmarks across multiple computers. The cool thing is it keeps your bookmarks (and even your passwords if you want to) up to date. So if your computer crashes or whatever you can restore everything just installing this add-on again. I know I can't live without this add-on anymore

I love Xmarks too! I can update/change my bookmarks here at home, and can access them all at work, current to what is at home. Now if only it could transfer all my log-ins and saved passwords. heheee

Well spill the beans woman, what did you get?!?! And did you get CS4 too?

Here's what I got and I can't sleep at night I'm so excited about it lol..okay not really, but I'm pretty dang excited..

Dell Studio XPS 8000
Intel® Core™ i5-750 processor(8MB Cache, 2.66GHz)
Memory 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 4 DIMMs
Video Card - nVidia GeForce GTX260 1792MB GDDR3
Hard Drive 500GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache
Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability
1505 WLAN PCIe card with11n mini-Card & external antenna

I'm switching from a laptop to a desktop but I'm okay with it b/c I never move my laptop from my desk anyway..we haven't purchased CS4 yet..DH is shopping for the best deal..it takes him FOREVER to make big purchases like this and I've learned it's best to not rush him lol.

ETA: I'm not really sure what all that spec stuff means except DH assures me it's going to be superfast and that he's jealous b/c his year old computer won't be as fast as mine.
