I am SOOO aggravated with Dell

we ordered my new computer over 3 weeks ago and it is still showing "in production" on the order status...we've called them 3 times and they can't tell us anything other than it's "in production" I have ordered 3 computers from them over the years and all of them have been built and arrived within 8-9 days. I don't want to cancel the order b/c I want my dang computer!! :cursing:

anyone else had one take this long with them?

My father-in-law ordered a computer for my son. Dell charged him for a warranty for the computer and the warranty was more expensive then the computer. So he called raising heck with them and they gave him a coupon for half off his next order and refunded the warranty amount. So he ordered one of those netbooks for my daughter since she will need something when she starts college next year and hers was one that was already built just needed to be shipped. It took easily 2 weeks if not more to be out of production!! I would call and raise heck with them and tell them you want something for your inconvenience.

I've had good experiences with Dell, but my dad wasn't too happy with how long (and how expensive) it was going to take for them to build his "dream" PC, so he after a week of waiting, he cancelled and ordered from Apple instead.

well, to be fair, they did list our delivery date as oct. 15 so technically it's not late I guess, but i never imagined it would take them this long..DH tells me though that he was pretty specific on what he wanted and that the last time he talked to them he was told they had been waiting on some parts...but if it's not here by the 15th there will be some heck raised.

Most Dells, especially custom builds, are shipped (literally, on ships) over from their overseas plants. Andrew did inside sales for Dell for a while when we were still in Texas. I can't tell you how often HE would complain about Dell not shipping orders for weeks on end. He got calls about it every single day. It's unlikely you'll see the computer before next week, Nikki. I'm sorry.

When I ordered mine (lots of specifics as well) it took well over 3 weeks to get it.

It is hard to wait for something you want so bad!

My last custom-made Dell took a long time too.
