Large chested advice?

Because I feel like I can talk to you girls about anything....

Are any of you out there largish chested? And if so... PLEASE tell me where you find lingerie!!! I'm a 38DD. I guess up here in Canada I'm some kind of freak show because I haven't found almost anywhere that carries anything larger than a D, and stores like La Senza rarely have anything larger than a C. I'm in reasonable shape, I just have a big chest!

Here's the thing - DH and I are going on our first real trip in November - two nights and three days for our 5 year anniversary (and we've had two kids in the time since we've been married - we NEED this weekend!!!) And I've been despretly hunting for something ... you know... sexy. :unsure:That fits me. That the girls don't spill out of.

I have now been through all local lingerie shops. And returned two that I bought online.

Anyone have any ideas of what else to try or should I just give up?

I was in La Senza yesterday, and I saw DDs there. I'm only a C, but I know I saw them there. Perhaps you could ask, they could probably bring something in, if they don't have it!

Before my breast reduction I was a 34 H..so yeah, I feel your pain. I could never find a bra in any store that would fit..had to have them made in a specialty store at 80 bucks each..but anyway, I know most department stores like Belk or Dillards carry sizes up to DD. Look for minimizer bras..I'm down to a D cup now but I still like the Bali brand..I usually shop for them here

OneHanesPlace.com

but you can also find Bali in department stores.

they're not the sexiest..but it's really really hard to find any that are in the larger cup sizes..

we don't have any Victoria Secret in my city - and I'm not sure if they have any in Canada or not! I've found a few bras here and there that fit me. Maybe my city is just weird and doesn't stock them? The Bay and Sears sometimes have bras, but not cute night wear. I've asked and they said 'we don't carry most of these bras in that size - we must have sold out of the ones that do'.

I wish I could find some cute night dress or chemise or something...

I know how you feel I'm that exact size too. We have a nice little store here, but I should look at victoria secret, I didn't know about them.

What I was going to suggest. I'm in Canada too and a 40DD. I went to the states and got 3 bras from Lane Bryant...Gorgeous ones...and they have beautiful lingerie, but they don't ship to Canada. You could order something and have it shipped to a friend's place in the States if you know someone. The Bay at times will also carry Cacique, so look around there too. The absolute best thing I can recommend is a small lingerie shop that ISN'T a chain, because they might have something, or be able to order it for you.

I'm a 38DD too & Victorias Secret's lingerie does not fit me at all! I've found a lot at Dillards that fits GREAT!

I'm a 38DDD and the only bra I wear is the balconette bra at Lane Bryant. I buy some of their lingerie too, but the only problem is that it's not by cup size, but by clothing size. Where I can fit into their 14/16, the 18/20 are too big, but getting lingerie in a 14/16...the cup size is usally too small. Oh well...I still get them, and I like them if they have support.

and Nikki...a 34 H ? WOW! I'd have had a reduction too. If I didn't have these balconette bras, I'd be getting the surgery done too. Finally, my back doesn't hurt anymore!

When I worked for Victoria's Secret 38DD was a fairly regular size for them to carry....

They carry bras and some tops in that size, but not in their "intimacy" line. Their intimacy line stops at a C or D, I can't remember which.

Yeah..it was bad..I was this tiny little thing with these HUGE tata's..having that surgery was probably one of the best things I ever ever did..I was a DDD when I was 15..can you imagine??

For you ladies that are DD or higher I really really recommend going to a specialty shop and getting fitted...the bras you can get made fit SOO much better than anything you can find pre-made and most of the time you'll find you're actually a different size than you think..I thought I was a DDD and found out I was actually squeezing those big mama's into a bra that was WAYY too small...but then DDD is usually the biggest you can find in stores. Once I had one that fit right it made a world of difference with my back problems and how my clothes fit.

so... I guess next time I'm in the states, I'll be looking for a Lane Bryant! I guess I hadn't thought of them, because I wouldn't normally go into a plus sized store, as I'm usually a size 12. *sigh* wish they shipped to Canada. Maybe I'll go hunting at the Bay. They sometimes have great service and sometimes it's a 17 year old girl with no chest running the lingerie department and she can't be bothered to talk to someone like me! Really people. I want to spend money! You just have to have a product that FITS me!
It's nice to hear I'm not the only one out there with these issues. :)

I have been fitted before, and that is how I know my correct size, but those bras were about $100, and the Balconette's from Lane Bryant fit me so much better and I have no more neck or back pain. They are usually around $34 and they almost always are running the special of buy one get one half off. I have about 20 bras from them (I want all colors and a good supply of black ones for work. I never wear mine more than once. I also have their plunge one just in case I need to wear a more plunging neckline, but I've only used it a few times.

Where ever you go, like Nikki said, it is so important to be fit for it. Most people have no idea what size they are. The gals in lane Bryant are trained to fit as well, but I would always have the manager do it if possible!

If you are only a 34 or 36, Lane Bryant doesn't carry those in the stores usually. I think they start with a 38. You'd have to get the other sizes online. As long as you know your size though, you could have them sent to someone and then have them ship it to you.

I have to shop at a specialty store because they don't make nursing bras my size but this is where I shop for regular bras, don't know if they ship to Canada... I'm a 30H when not nursing and a 30I when nursing... I have to get 34I nursing bras and have the band altered. I think that 38DD is a pretty common bra size... are you sure that that's really your size though? Most women don't wear the correct size... I used to wear a 36DDD until I was correctly measured and was floored when I found out that I'm really a 30H. You actually look smaller when you're wearing the correct size and it's much more comfortable. You know you have the correct band size if you wear it on the outer hooks because the elastic eventually wears out and you'll need to use the inner hooks eventually... does that make sense? You also want it snug to lift those babies up and really support you. I can not tell you how important it is for us large chested women to make sure you are sized correctly.

forgot to mention that the online store I linked has really great instructions on getting your own measurements and helps you figure out the difference between European sizing and US sizing. As long as you have a tape measure you can do it yourself. Good luck!
