Kindle - anyone have it?

I have been looking at the Kindle for a LONG time and finally ordered one. I'm still waiting for it - do you have one? Do you like it? Is it worth it? The price just went down, so I figured I would get one! (also, I read ALL of the time - so it seemed 'right' to order one!! LOL!)
 
I don't have one but I want one. One of the attorneys I work with has one and it's AWESOME!!! Hopefully I can get one soon.... :)
 
Both my parents have one. My dad got it and loves it but my mom could not see the appeal. She likes holding books and didn't think she'd like the screen or the way it felt. He convinced her to read a chapter on it and 4 books later he got his Kindle back. So they bought one for her.:)

I want one, but I get 90% of my reading material free from the library, loaned from friends or used. I just bought 9 used hardback mysteries for $10.25 (plus shipping)from half.com and you can't buy, loan & sell used Kindle books. So the long terms costs for one is sort of high for me. That is keeping me from buying one. If I was still buying books the way I used to before I became a SAHM I'd own a Kindle already :)
 
My dad ordered one about six months ago and he really likes it! He now gets his newspaper and a few magazine subscriptions through the Kindle.
 
I love mine! :thumbup: The only downfall is if you read a good book, you can't share it with your friends and family. Well, you could share the Kindle I guess - ha! It is so light and easy to put in my tote and has come in so handy with wait times with family members in the hospital, kids at the doctor offices, etc.
 
I was so worried that when I get it, I would regret it, but it looks like I am going to love it!!:thumbup: I'm so excited!!
 
I am a bookoholic, love, love, love reading, and I just have to have my own books, which is why we have one room on our house dedicated as a libary ;) If it was available here, I would get a Kindle, no doubt.
 
I looked at *something* on the internet several months ago to try out the books like this... you downloaded a program and you could try out a book on it...but I couldn't find any of the authors that I liked to even BUY a book for it...so I deleted the program. I think it was so you could see if you liked viewing your books that way...
 
I've kind of been wanting one of these too. With the lower price, maybe it can go on my Christmas list. :thumbup:
